Who else could match Ali's jab and footwork. I know fighters like Holmes and Lennox Lewis had more powerful jabs but they couldn't use it as effectively as Ali in my opinion. Who had a better jab than Ali?

  1. he had the fastest jab ever

  2. larry holmes had a great jab and so did ali holmes was better though

  3. I'd say Ali had the FASTEST jab in all of boxing.  The greatest jab though in heavyweight history belonged to Sonny Liston.  Liston's jab was fast, stiff, straight and through and very very powerful that it could knock people down.  Man, just imagine a boxer knocking down opponents with a jab.  That was Sonny Liston.

  4. I still like the Larry Holmes jab better.

  5. I think Holmes had the best all-around jab. Young Ali's jab was very flawed because he threw it off balance backing up, and had ZERO power. It got better as he grew older though. I think Wlad Klitschko's jab is better than Lewis'. Wlad along with Sonny Liston had the hardest jabs.

  6. Larry's jab was better.  But Ali had the greatest heavyweight footwork, so if you go with the combo of the 2, there's no-one better than Ali.

Lewis's jab was not more powerful.  It was a pawwing jab, a range-finder rather than a damaging punch.

  7. yes he was the greatest boxer of all time

  8. holmes, ali, patterson. louis, liston, lewis, all had great jabs.

  9. I think Ali was the greatest ever. He had the best jab altogether. Mike Tyson had an interesting jab. So did George Foreman.Joe Frazier chose not to jab so he would come at you like a train,

Ali is in a class of his own because he can adapt to any style of fight.

    All the best
