Question:

Did Bush's aggressive Foreign Policy placing missile defense radar near Russia lead to the hot War in Georgia?

It seems to me that George Bush again failed in the listening department to understand what was being said to him by Americans and World Leadership, and the result is the alarming war in Georgia because of Bush's continued insistence that missile radar would be placed near the Russian border. Face it, right or wrong this is a act of agression on Bush's part as far as the Russia leadership is concerned, and rightly so.

How would America react if Russia placed early warning missile radar in Cuba?

  1. Definitely a democrat on a fishing expedition to pin something else on Bush - are you a member of Congress chasing ghosts?

  2. george is a smart in placing radars near a country which has nearly equal technology as us, such as the SU-73 fighter jet

  3. I am quite certain that there are Russian Radars in cuba.

Bush has little or nothing to do with the war between Russia and Georgia.

It seems a stupid idiotic war and I hope both sides wake up real quick.

  4. I think you are exactly right. As the U.S. has trained the Georgian troops and used US funds to do so. Then Bush goes against consistent advice not to try to put a radar defense system along the Russia border. That in itself is enough to provoke the Russian government to take defensive action. I am sure when this blows more widely open and some real reporting is done, it will be seen that the U.S. has coached the Georgians to take back Ossetia in a bid to strengthen the region. What is Russia supposed to do? Allow Georgia to fire artillery and invade and take back a region which they signed a peace accord with, after Russia promised to support the region, which it freely accepted. Part of Democracy that most western leaders don't understand is the implications of when separatists within a region want to break away. Then is it democratic to militarily take them back? What hypocrisy! The decision lies with the people! Who came to Ossetia's support after invasion? People can't complain when a democracy engages in invasion then observes a swift hard response against it.

If Bush/Cheney is stupid enough to get the U.S. involved in yet another protracted conflict, they have to be the stupidest and most power hungry people on the planet. Don't mess with the sleeping giant! Russia in no way or shape compares to Iraq or even Iran. Russia lives next door. It would be a fast suicide mission and would have nothing absolutely nothing to do with any catch phrase such as "Democracy". Wake up people!

  5. *yawn*  Your nescience is astounding.

Short answer for the twitchy reporters: No.

    ADDED:

*Sigh* There's been missile radars in cuba for over 4.5 decades now nit.

  6. Given the now demonstrable aggressive nature of the current Russian regime it seems on prudent that the US should be keeping an eye on them.  Not only did Bush have nothing to do with this, it proves the correctness of his decision to be able to monitor them.
