  1. why would anyone thumbs down a correction?? columbia and colombia are two different things and places.

The united states has been aiding colOmbia for a while..

    Recently, there have been results.

colombia, with u.s. aid, tricked the farc into handing over very important hostages.

  2. Gordon Johndroe, the deputy White House press secretary, said the American ambassador to Colombia, William Brownfield and the United States combatant commander in the region, Admiral James Stavridis, were "engaged in the planning stages."

"This was a Colombian conceived and led operation; we supported the operation," he said, adding, "This rescue was long in the planning, and we've been working with the Colombians for five years, since the hostages were taken, to free them from captivity."

  3. I didn't know there were hostages in Columbia, SC or Columbia University.  I did know about the ones in Colombia.

  4. Seems as though the French were involved....Interesting. I wouldn't bet against the US providing some type of support though.
