They said that the Chinese gymnasts were 14 and 15. The age limit is 16. So did China cheat and lie about their age?

  1. I think a birth certificate or some sort of proof of age needs to be shown to the public!

I mean, I myself don't think China cheated, but that girl looked waaaay younger than 16, and if we saw some evidence to prove her age I'd feel alot better, you know?

I honestly think the U.S. deserved to win though.. They got robbed on alot of their points.

    stupid judges.

  2. no they didnt. the news anchors said they didnt look their age, and a lot of people don't look their age. they won and everyones throwing a **** fit because the americans didn't win.

  3. Stop crying ... oh wait nah you people are just normal Americans and you continue to show that by sitting on her crying that china lost.. they simply beat the us .. the girl's are 16 - 20 and don't look like it b/c that's just how they are they look small.. and what's with the midget girl on the us team she's like 4'7 and look's 8..

dude check your spelling, china won u moron

  4. Nooooo, Chneis don't Cheat?

  5. By the look of it some of them women weightlifters look like they should be checked for male genitalia

  7. The IOC seems to favor china why I don't know, those girls look like they haven't hit puberty yet. The reason why the chinese girls are so good is because their younger than 16, and that's against the rules! The USA coach said that some of them still had their baby teeth!! Honestly I think they cheated cause they knew they were going go lose against USA so they decided to get younger girls.

  8. They also were pulled from there homes/schools/daycare at the age of 3 to start training for the gymnastics/olympics to give there family a better life. They are allowed to visit there parents once a year.

When you think of it that way and not in terms of age it's sick. They were good though. I wonder why? They were snatched from their homes and put into basically a boot camp.

    Nobody can prove their age.

The Americans did well and obviously had alot of nerves. At least they get to go home with a silver and see Mom and Dad when it's all over!

  9. oh no no!

  10. Yes they did.  Basically you can be 15 years old with your 16th birthday the same year you compete in the Olympics.  People in Asia look young for their age, but when you compare body types with those certifiably over 16 and are forced to smile and act more mature than you really are, it does not take a rocket scientist to show that China pulled a fast one on the entire World.

Hopefully someone will investigate and file a complaint with the IOC and also check out China's athletes in other sports.

  11. I don`t think so

  12. Yeah, they cheated. No doubt about it.

  13. It seems to me that they did, although they can't really prove it because the passports were already accepted with the age of 16 on them. But if the Americans would have won, would they have brought this subject up at all?

  14. Nah--the Chinese gymnasts were very good.

  15. No I don't think so but you'll never know.

Many american olympians use steroids, so the medals should be taken away from them? Hmm. Same thing right?

  16. Yes, I believe so.

Problem is the passports that they submitted to the IOC were issued by the Chinese Government--so we'll probably never know.

  17. I think so. There is no way that one little girl will be 16 this year.

  18. Yes.

I guess everyone in here thinks you are only cheating if you get caught.

  19. The girls were definitely NOT 16. Some were probably 12 or 14, but honestly, I don't see a problem with that. The Olympic games are about the best of the best (in the world) competing against each other.  If these girls are good enough to qualify, they DESERVE to compete. No one said you have to be 16 or over to be good.  The whole age limit thing is pretty ridiculous-I mean when you look at diving for example, you have kids that are 14 -15 competing. I don't see anyone complaining about that so why should they complain about the Chinese women's gymnastic team?

something to add after I've thought about this topic:

so...really, I thought about it..and yes China cheated (by violating the rules which I guess is defined as cheating. However, it is not the same type of cheating as bribing a judge to get a higher mark. They should not have done that...but this rule shouldn't have existed either. I would be extremely angry at them IF they did cheat by bribing...but this...I think they worked extremely hard to get this good. And it really doesn't matter how old they are...they worked hard and I think it really showed ( it paied off). If they decide to take away their gold medal then let that be. I will still see the Chinese gymnasts as the best in the world because they worked extremely hard and preformed extremely well (even better than the Americans). A medal isn't everything and sometimes it doesn't mean that the athlete who won it is the best in the world. Sometimes, the best just don't necessarily get the opportunity to show what they've got, right?

  20. Probably but it is likely nothing will ever be done about it.  Their birthdays are in the public record, there is proof that some of them are underage.

  21. Yep...and there has been a history of underaged Chinese gymnasts.

    CHEATERS...

  22. Forensics people have shown that their eyes and faces do not reflect teenagers.  That said, maybe they should change the rules so that ALL counties can compete on a level playing field.  I'm sure Russia, Romania, Japan and the US would love a little equality.  But then again, we are talking about China.  Did you really expect fairness.  There has already been complaints about the boxing.  And the Canadians already know that the games can be compromised (skating event).

  23. No, if they did they would have been in major trouble now.  I don't think they would want to jeopardize their relations with the rest of the world by cheating in games.

  24. No do you really think its that easy to cheat in the Olympics?

Why would they openly admit cheating? You know that they can take a medal off you if they find out you cheated in any way

  25. Heck Yeah i think that 1 of them was younger like 13 it made me so mad :< and whenever they made a mistake it didnt count aganist them but it did for united states!

  26. Probably, but I don't really care.  The US women were the ones that gave the Chinese the gold medal.
