  1. Everyone here obviously seems to be not getting the point!!! When Djokovic made those impersonations last year and had the entire stadium laughing out loud, it was not funny then. But more importantly it was NOT funny to the players that he was impersonating. Even Roger Federer hinted that the other guys in the locker room weren't too happy that he was making these annoying impersonations of them for cheap laughs.

It's not funny when you impersonate anyone based on certain traits or characteristics that they may have. Have any of you ever been mocked or teased by a bully in school? Remember what that feels like? It does not matter if the person who is doing the impersonating is just having fun and means no harm. If you are going to impersonate someone and make fun of them, then you better have that person's permission to do so, so that he/she knows that you mean no harm!!!

That's the problem with Djokovic. He impersonates his fellow opponents and makes fun at them, all the while thinking it's no big deal. But what he needs to understand is that it is no fun when you are the butt end of someone's stupid joke. I believe he realize that the other night when he heard what Andy had said about him, and like the idiot he has proven himself to be, he showed his natural and true colors. It's very disturbing and disgusting that he thinks it is right that he can say and do these kind of things to his opponents, but when someone make a little fun at him, he wants to cry bloody murder.

Then you guys need to understand that Djokovic has had a long history of calling for the trainer especially when it appears that he is losing in a match, and he has also retired from many matches that he is obviously losing. When you take this into consideration and listen to what Tommy Robredo said after their match, you can understand why most of the other players are getting pretty annoyed at him. I believe this is what both Tommy and Andy was suggesting in their comments. Djokovic has been pulling these kind of stunts for quite some time now and NOBODY has dared called him on it, not even the umpires. It's is wrong, and while it may not be outright cheating, it does bring the issue of sportsmanship into question.

Finally, yes Djokovic was asked to do those impersonations but still, that does not make it right that he still did it. And let's not forget that he did it at Wimbledon 07, and then there is that now infamous youtube video. Clearly the guy was looking for some attention and that's why he kept doing it.

Andy's comment was meant in jest. Yes it was not right of Andy to say the things he said, but in fairness to Andy, the point he was trying to make is that Djokovic uses the trainer as a way of "cheating". Tamkel (the first poster) is correct about that match in '05 against Gael Monfils. If ever anyone wants to say that Djokovic is simply following the rules and calling the trainer because he has a right to, then watch that match and then ask yourself whether you honestly think he does not call the trainer simply to cheat!!!

Djokovic is the worst thing to happen to tennis in a long time, and trust me guys, as much as you continue to defend him, I am telling you that this incident is not going to be last time the guy says or does something really stupid!!!

  2. First of all, what was said by Roddick, wasnt in a joking sense. Jokes are funny, and to be laughed at. When you state a person is faking and so forth, how is that a joke?  All that aside, the better player won, and had the last laugh. Roddick is a one hit wonder, and cant contend with the top players in the world, clearly. His game isnt good enough, and has refused to adjust his game to where it needs to be to contend. Which is why Jimmy Connors left him as coach. he is all serve and power, and doesnt want to change up his game, be patient,a nd develop more of an offensive backhand, one with topspin, rather than choose to slice the majority of time, and use finesse as well. He chooses to use power over skill, thought, and which is why he hasnt done anything in years. He was ranked a bit too high and presently his ranking is fitting. Novak is no doubt the 3rd best player and proves it despite his antics.

  3. I think Djokovic is being a big baby.  Does anyone remember a few years ago at the open I believe and he had a "breathing" problem and left Gael Monfils waiting longer than the prescribed 15 minutes for a trainer.  You are supposed to either forfeit to your opponent or get up and play.  He had him waiting 30 minutes and then mysteriously recovered and won the match.  I've been a tennis fan for a long time and I am tired of seeing guys call for a trainer, get a massage, a steam, and a martini because they are so injured and then the first point back they serve an ace.  Besides that Djokovic went through just about all the major tennis guys and gals and did impersonations of them not once but a few times in front of capacity crowds on national television and did you hear any of those classy people complain about him?  No.  So as the old saying goes if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

  4. hes a great player..and even the commentators say hes a really good person..he just didnt no that andy was kidding, andy did say it in a sarcastic way and english wasnt noles first language....just get over it djokovic won, hes a better player...plus in the kids day andy did imitate nole and djokovic thought it was funny, so he can take it

  5. Well, Djokovic's stints were meant to entertain and amuse people while Roddick's type of joke is meant to criticize although he said he didn't intend to convey anything serious.

  6. It's different when you are making impersonations and making jokes about someone's injuries.I never heard Djokovic making jokes of other players in his interviews, all he did were impersonations.Roddick impersonates Djokovic all the time and Djokovic never complained about it.But this was different,Andy was acusing him of faking and perhaps he realy was hurting and that's way he got so upset.I like Andy, but what he said in that interview was not right. You don't make jokes about someone's injury and you can't judge wheater they are hurting or not.Anyway,to answer your question I think Djokovic did show his true colors last night,he just showed that he is very honest person and he is always gona speak his mind, even if you don't like it,even if you are 20,000 people who are gonna turn against him.

  7. Yeah right. Accusing Nova of faking injuries is "joking". And so is the 16 diseases allegation. At least Robredo did not pretend to have "joked". All that said and done, Djokovic pushes the envelope to its limit. But, if the umpire is fine with it, that is all that matters.

  8. It was out of place, yes he did act like a big baby. And many players said that they don't find his impressions funny ( Nadal per.exp.) but he didn't stop until he thought it's right time to stop. He is a great player but with his attitude he wont be a star like Federer or Nadal. And forget what he said about Andy, what about things he said to the crowd? That was so out of the place, yes the crowd was loud , but so what it's grand slam in USA and USA player is playing. Someone should ask Djokovic about Serbian crowd on Davis Cup match held in Belgrade, it was awful ( trust me i was there) it was 1000 times worst than this. Doesn't matter if Roddick was joking or not, be a greater man, but I guess Djokovic is not one.

And here is a quote from Roddick,I agree on this one:

"I figure if you're going to joke and imitate other people and do the whole deal, then you should take it. Listen, if someone makes fun of me I'm most likely going to laugh," Roddick said. "I'm sorry he took it that way. ... I don't think I was over the line. It wasn't my intention, and, you know, I'm sorry he felt that way. Maybe I did him a favor tonight."

  9. Like always! Djokovic Amazing!!

  10. There's a difference between impersonating someone and saying that someone has dangerous diseases like the ones Roddick mentioned. btw, were you there in the crowd trying your very best to disturb him so many times just as he was about to serve?

  11. He was obviously upset about what Andy said. It was bothering him a lot and I think he was a feeling bit guilty otherwise there was no need to bring it up in front of the whole crowd.

personally, i think that it upset Djokovic cause he knew that what Andy said is partly true. But I think he immediately realized he'd made a blunder and tried to correct it.

  12. I can't believe this! What are you talking about!?Djokovic was just making jokes to make people laugh when he was doing those immitations, people even asked him to do so.Roddick on the other hand insulted Novak when saying that Novak is faking his injuries. He wasn't making a joke but insulting another player. You are just another Djokovic hater and can't accept the fact that he is better than Roddick in every way.

  13. First off, the fans yelling during his serves was entirely out-of-line.  However, Andy can't control those people so I don't blame him.

Second, I agree with you about the fact that Djokovic is a hypocrite.  Plus, if he's as confident as he tries to portray, then why does a little comment bother him.  Obviously he hasn't seen other sports like boxing, football, basketball, etc. where trash talking the other player (or team) is common place and people just shrug these comments off rather than whine about them in a post game interview.  He always has had an attitude, thinks he's better than everybody, and really gets under my skin.  I respect his ability and will not deny him that, but his attitude and personality need a real adjustment.

  14. That's not fair! It wasn't a JOKE! Roddick accused him for faking his injuries! Imagine being a professional player and getting blamed like that? Djokovic had ever right to be angry. He has OFTEN sprained his ankle or gotten cramps and stuff.. So what?

The imitations Djokovic does are just for FUN! He's so sweet he keeps everybody laughing. That's why he's got his nick name DJOKER! He copies players in mock fun, and everybody knows that. He keeps the locker room laughing and everything.

The two cases are different. Roddick blamed him, and Djokovic just makes fans laugh! He's an awesome down-to-heart player.

  15. oh he was a baby big time. yes he was out of line big time.. he was too much..  he cannot handle remarks agains't him, he wants to dish it out but he cannot handle it back...

during the match though the crowd was a bit too hostile towards him, not andys fault either...  and i am tired of djovick faking injuries and taking more time and then coming out and whiping out an ace or a big forehand winner...... he has to change his deamnour and personality big time...

  16. He was out of line. The crowd agreed. It's one thing to openly say it bothered him, it's another thing to have the crowd booing at you because of negative comments.
