  1. No, he always did other peoples songs

  2. This is all I've found:

He is credited as a co-writer of "(I'll) You'll Be Gone" (1965). This was the B side of the hit from his film Girl Happy (1965), "Do The Clam". It is found in his five-CD box set of '60s recordings. Elvis composed the lyrics and brought the song to a recording session.

and one statement that says:  He never wrote a song.

  3. Probably not,but his name is on

    'Love Me tender'

    "Paralyzed"

    Heartbreak Hotel

    Poor Boy

    to name a few.

Just found this nice little quote on 'wiki' which just about sums it up

The song is credited to Elvis Presley and Vera Matson due to royalty issues, but the lyric was written by Ken Darby (Matson's husband). He also arranged the Civil War tune, which was in the public domain. When asked why he credited his wife as co-songwriter along with Presley, Darby responded, "Because she didn't write it either."
