  1. Sorry but I have been playing tennis since I was 8, and now I am a tennis coach. One of the rules of tennis is "hit right at them." You dont do this in order to hurt the player(which is kinda hard by the way seeing they have this big ole racket) but to make it difficult to return the ball, either serve, ground stroke or volley.

As for Andy's attitude I agree he can be a bit high on himself but so are 90% of the players. He is going though some things with his own game and wants to crush everyone in his way, cause he has been losing alot as of late. Can't blame him.

If I had that type of serve I would never aim for the T, always for the body, much more room for error. Do your best and move on dont cry. Do people cry when Nadal uses those crazy angles to crush his prey, do they say "Nadal makes me run too much and he is already winning" Come on!

  2. yea.  he seemed to be pissed at roddick

  3. Yup, he did. Roddick is focusing on serving the best he can, not trying to aim at his head. Santoro was just pissed cuz he got creamed. And I was really disappointed with Santoro with the way he let Roddick beat him. Santoro looked like he was on the brink of crying the whole time and lost the game with no dignity. He disappointed tennis.

  4. I don't know. I was hoping for a link up to see the actual serve.

  5. i think he did, andy ovbiously didn't aim for him, he apologize to santoro on the net and said it in the press conference that he'd look for him to apologize again .-

i think andy didn't deserve to finish an amazing match like the one he played last night that way.-

    you can watch it here:

  6. Yeah. He's too old now.

  7. Yes, I'm not a huge tennis fan, but the way I see it, if Santoro doesn't have the skills to hit that, then that's not Roddick's fault. Does he expect Roddick to lob one over for him to smash?

  8. yeah he did roddick wasn't tryin to hit him and he apologized for the shot too santoro should have just given a thumbs up and played out the set insted of just standing back and letting andy get the easy pt

  9. no way, santoro is a professional athlete he should just suck it up and hit the frikkin serve back not whine about it. yeah roddick was pretty much gonna win at that point, but that doesnt mean he should bring down his game so that the guy who totally got is butt kicked doesnt "feel bad" after the match.

seriously be an athlete suck it up and play the game or just dont play at all!

  10. I disagree!!! Santoro had all the right in the world to be pissed off at Andy at that point. I don’t believe that it was just Andy’s 140 mph serve that almost hit him in the head that got to Santoro, it was this, as well as the fact that Andy was acting very arrogant and conceited throughout the entire match.

My sister and I were watching the match last night and from the very first set, my sister, who is a huge Roddick fan, was complaining about how Roddick was playing and acting on the court during the match. We both thought that he was coming across very arrogant and conceited. He was serving very quickly over and over, almost like he was purposely rushing the point, and at times seemed like he could care less about how badly he was beating his opponent.

Santoro does not have the game to threaten the top players but his style of play makes it very enjoyable for the fans to watch. That’s why he has so many fans and that’s why he has been given top billing during the US Open Primetime matches for the past three years.

Everyone expected Andy to convincingly win this match and move on to the second round, but no one expected Andy to totally humiliate and insult the guy by how arrogant he came across during the match. That’s what perhaps pissed Santoro off. Andy was clearly winning at that point, and for him to go after a 140 mph serve “INTO THE BODY” no less, was totally uncalled for at that point in the match (6-2, 6-2, 5-2, 30-0). What?! Does Andy have such little confidence in his serve and game that he felt Santoro would have mount a major comeback when it was so obvious that he was clearly beaten at that point?!?!

  11. i think so
