Question:

Did Frank McGarvey really say that?

During the week Frank McGarvey was interviewed in the Record. I just skimmed through it because to substantiate his point about the decline of society he mentioned where I live so I thought f*** you!

Anyway, next day in the hotlines and phone-ins it seems like he believes that playing for Celtic should be more important to Scott Brown than his sister dying of cancer. Has he been misinterpreted or did he actually say that?

I work in builder's merchants and have served Frank McGarvey at a few different trade counters. He is hardly the voice of authority on anything in my opinion.

  1. from the parts i read he likened Scott's problems to his own problems with gambling and said he left his problems behind when he played..basically saying that scott browns sister dying from cancer should not affect what he did on the park...i was gobsmacked..if he honestly thinks you can put something like that to the back of your mind then he is disallusional..maybe he is trying to be controversial to sell his book but some of his comments are way out of order...anyone who has lost someone will tell you to put it to the back of your mind just does not happen no matter what your profession..i think he should apologise for a lot of what he has said

exactly feet..he has obviously never lost someone close or he would know the pain it causes...well out of order

  2. Never read any of Mcgarvey's extracts but nothing would surprise me. Someone posted on here last week about his comments on Davie Cooper, again I wasn't surprised. I used to babysit for Mcgarvey and his wife (when they were together). He is not a nice man at all even if he was an ex-Hoops player. He obviously needs the money by flaunting his autobiography and making poor statements like these

  3. He bad-mouthed Jock Stein, a man who is not here to defend hinmself, to sell copies of his 'life story'.  A t0sser, and has been all his life.  Plus he used to run like a big jessie.

  4. I SAY GET IM TO FUC ,SIMPLE AS

  5. This is the person that was having a go at jock stein a couple of weeks ago.......his píshy flooring buisness must be in the gutter.

  6. i think that the "problems" he had are still with him ..talking through his erse being one of them..

Scott will show him this season what a player he is.

  7. the man's a prick. i have lost (too many) close family in the last few years and i'm not ashamed to say it drove me almost to the point of no return.i'd give ANYTHING for just one more minute with any of the 3 brothers and 2 sisters that i lost. comments like mcgarvey's and ''football is more important than life'' really pi55 me off.

  8. No, he was not misinterpreted. He is just an absolute idiot.

  9. met him once in the royal hotel in laurencekirk in the 80s, oor bus used to stop there before we went on to the  game in aberdeen and i can assure you he is a prick he didnae want to know anybody then but now hes skint were all meant to buy his book, personally i wouldnt pish on him if he were on fire.
