I will start by asking anyone who doubts my bona fides to look to my own Q&A to see my allegiances, that said I have to say Fred Thompson did a nice job for the McCain camp tonight. If not a great actor, the guy is a skilled orator.
He took McCain's P.O.W. years and really turned them into a compelling tale. He also took the shots at the opposition you would expect.
So after that and the rest of the process what bounce will we see? I've followed the polls and also how they're conducted and I think they lack some serious considerations BUT (here's the caveat) that said Obama's bounce took him 6-8 points ahead, they polls also state that only about 8.5% percent are still undecided, so can McCain and the Republican party actually pick up EVERYONE tonight that's still now got their choice dialed in?
I think not, I also think the pollsters are sorely under estimating "probable" voters due to the marked increase in youth voter turn out since 2000 so how close is it going to get?
(Let's look back at 2000 and 2004
The 18 to 34 group voted at a rate of 16% higher in 2004 and this year the Dems have got one helluva lot of younger voters registered
