I have read that ricky hatton has knocked back a fight will dlh.if this is true, surely it is time for hatton to jack boxing in altogether.he always says it is not about the money, its always been about the glory.i find it very dissapointing if he is not going to accept bouts when he claims he is a great champion.i know he is a very limited fighter but surely he should be taking on the big names.i would like to know from real hatton fans if they are disapointed that he is denying them the chance to see him in superfights and if they would be happy to keep paying to see him against average boxers.

  1. hatton is way passed his prime

  2. i read hatton will fight de la hoya in 2009...... hatton will destroy dlh in 8 rounds body punches will take its toll dlh aint got mayweather's gile and cunning.

  3. yes, i dont know why. would of been a good fight. de la hoya would win that fight. i think de la hoya should fight judah.

  4. Yes, Hatton rejected the bout.  He is fighting Paul Malignaggi later this year, and I figure that he liked his chances more against Malignaggi than he did against De La Hoya.  He does not want to get embarrassed again, and he knows that Oscar would most likely give him another knockout, or at least a bad beating.  But honestly, I'm alright with seeing Hatton fight Malignaggi instead because we all know what happens when Hatton fights above junior welterweight.  At 140, he's a beast, but above that weight, he becomes an average fighter, and I'm not just talking about when he got knocked out against Floyd Mayweather, Jr.- watch his fight Luis Collazo, and you'll see that he struggled like h**l and barely won that fight.  Plus, now that Hatton will most likely not take the Oscar fight, that opens the door for Miguel Cotto to get the fight as long as he beats Antonio Margarito.  Personally, I think that a Cotto-De La Hoya fight would be MUCH more entertaining, intriguing, and competitive than a Hatton-De La Hoya fight.

  5. i read an article that hatton would love to fight de la hoya but on a later date.. he just fought.. he deserved a rest.. if that fight happens.. de la hoya will win..

  6. To be fair Hatton already has a match scheduled with Paulie Malignaggi for later this year and De La Hoya was only looking for a fight with Hatton as a substitute for Mayweather so although it may be more of a high profile fight he would have to pay off Malignaggi to step aside so he could fight De La Hoya. It might not seem worth it to him in the long run and he may need more time to prepare for De La Hoya then he would hae if he decided to take the fight. Hatton has stepped up and fought some dangerous fights. Many thought he didn't stand a chance against Kostya Tszu and even Castillo could have given him problems but he fought them anyhow. Perhaps if Oscar postpones the date Hatton will reconsider.
