Question:

Did Hillary Clinton's closing remarks in the Texas debates sound like John Edwards concession speech?

Hilllary closed tonight's debate with a bravo speech about "no matter what happens we'll be fine, we have family....it's whether the American people will be fine"... something like that. It brought the house down.

But Anderson Cooper just pointed out how similar this sounded to John Edwards' concession speech. (tisk tisk did she xerox that?)

Was this Hillary's concession?

  1. Yup. Although I don't think she is done fighting for the job. She has always thought that it was just a formality for her to be the candidate and she is in shock. She will have nothing to lose to get out the bag of the Clinton dirty tricks at this point.

  3. as if the good of America is dependent on the Clinton dynasty

  4. Sure did,  I see her crying and beating the h*ll out of Bill and Chelsea in about two weeks from now.  lol. Guess we can say it in her favorite language..  Adios

  5. Clinton's best moment of the night was plagiarized from John Edwards.

Clinton: “You know, whatever happens, we're going to be fine. You know, we have strong support from our families and our friends. I just hope that we'll be able to say the same thing about the American people. And that's what this election should be about.”

Edwards: “What's not at stake are any of us. All of us are going to be just fine no matter what happens in this election. But what's at stake is whether America is going to be fine.” AND “I want to say this to everyone: with Elizabeth, with my family, with my friends, with all of you and all of your support, this son of a millworker's gonna be just fine. Our job now is to make certain that America will be fine.”. T

  6. You think?

  7. Yes. while accusing Barack of plagiarism, she herself did plagiarize.

    1. TPM Reader CG found one example in this November 1992 article by Anna Quindlen ...

**Bill Clinton, 92: "The hits that I took in this election are nothing compared to the hits the

people of this state and this country have been taking for a long time."

**Hillary Clinton, tonight: "You know, the hits I’ve taken in life are nothing

compared to what goes on every single day in the lives of people across our country."

    2. **Hillary Tonight:

You know, whatever happens, we're going to be fine. You know, we have strong

support from our families and our friends. I just hope that we'll be able to say

the same thing about the American people. And that's what this election should be about.

    **Edwards the December 13 debate:

What's not at stake are any of us. All of us are going to be just fine no matter

what happens in this election. But what's at stake is whether America is going to be fine.
