Did I do anything wrong?

The employment agency I go to recently found me a job interview. I went to an appointment there and they went outside and I heard them talking about me saying what can we do to get her to relax and what they can do to help me get the job. They did not realise I could hear. They also said I was a pain and I have been on their books long enough, let's get her a job and make some money out of her. I got annoyed when they came back in but I did not show it. I said where is it and when they told me I said how will I get there I have no transport. The woman sighed and rolled her eyes and looked frustrated. I was simply asking a question. She shoved a bus timetable in my face and I said it is too early to catch a bus. I thought I had the right to ask questions. I was going to go nevertheless. Then the woman asked what will I wear and I said pants. She rolled her eyes and asked her boss was it ok for me to wear this. These are not the only issues I have with them. I have been off their books for a while and still they ring me up and hassle me. Have I done anything wrong?

  1. They aren't nice, don't deal with them anymore!

  2. If you already knew you had transportation issues and aren't flexible with getting up early to catch a bus, you have wasted their time.  I would be annoyed too.  You sound like you don;t really want to find a job

  3. You did nothing wrong. You should have asked more questions and put them on the spot. You should have told them you feel they are wasting your time and maybe you should consider another agency. You will find a job soon. The heck with them. I need a housekeeper...do you happen to live in Colorado? I'll give you transportation.

  4. Employment is a ***** this days. Smile until you can leave. DON'T QUIT.

  5. I'm sure you checked if there are other agencies you can go to? You have to look at it as they are also working for you. They will get paid when you get a job so why do they have to be such rude snobs about it. I would have been grand if you told them you that you didn't  need to relax, and that no one else ever considered you a pain and yes you have been on the books long enough so get off their bums and get you a Job!. These were all the things that they said and didn't know you could hear them.

    Good luck!

  6. do you live in kabul?  really?  get your own job already.  or move back in with mom and dad.

  7. They don't sound like particularly nice people, or maybe they were having a nice day, but from you're perspective, it sounds like the former. One thing I couldn't help but notice was how you said the bus was to early, if you want a job, you need to be prepared for the hours, you can't just say 'I want the job but not the hours'. As for relaxing, just smile and be friendly and don't wring your hands or play with your hair or anything like that.
