Question:

Did I do the right thing? Will my parents find out?

Ok, 3 weeks ago a social worker came to our house to speak to me. I did something really stupid. I said the wrong thing to the wrong person as a joke and that resulted in them thinking I was in danger (a HUGE misunderstanding). Anyway, so she came to my house and talked to me. I explained everything to her and she gave me a number to give to my parents for them to call. I never told my parents that she came though, they know I did something bad (the school called them) but they don't know about the social worker. Anyway, so they never got the message. Then today I got a letter asking them to ring her and talk it through. I knew if I told them now they'd kill me so I just rang her and pretended to be my mom. She believed it and told me the case is now closed. Is that it? Will she ever call again, or will my parents find out?

I know I did a bad thing, but my parents don't need to know.

  1. Your parents will find out sooner or later, As if they were to find a picture of a boy in your room where it might not always be. Sorry buddy, they're gonna know!

  2. They'd probably find out at some point, but if it's in years and years they may not care. If they find out soon though, they'd probably be a lot more angry than if you had just told them.

  3. I would hope for your sake not.  If they did find out, you'd have to spill the beans on everything.

  4. The problem is if anything ever happens again and your not home 24 hrs to run interference then you would get in trouble by your parents. Besides they are still more likely to find out than not. What if your school calls and asks them how everything with the social worker went?

  5. well, you know you did not do the right thing. you need to come clean, I have a feeling they are going to end up finding out one way or the other, and then you will be in serious trouble. what you did also technically constitutes fraud. now, i'm not saying worry a lot about it, because if what you did was that serious, they would have insisted on a face to face meeting with your parents. but you do need to tell them.

  6. you should of told your mum and dad stright away

ive always told my daughter no matter what touble shes in or if shes been bad that she can always talk to me and i think its wrong your still hiding it from them if they do find out you've made it worse for yourself saying that my daughter is only 4 so ive still a good few years yet to go

  7. Well, you can't go back now.  If you tell your parents that you pretended to be your Mom, whoa that's bad.

I'd just wait it out and see what happens.  Perhaps the social worker will never call again....

  8. Admit at once differently will bother to lie

  9. Oh dear what a muddle.  I think you should tell your parents anyway they will understand, and it means they can't find out from someone else.  I know you've made mistakes but honesty is ALWAYS the best policy!!!

  10. There's no substitute for honesty. It's a lesson some of us take longer to learn than others.
