My dad and I have little to no relationship at all so I told him that I would not talk to him until he set up a time for us to get counseling together. I feel bad because he is my dad and I always thought he'd love me enough to change things between(i have been trying and trying and nothing works) but if he doesn't I will feel bad abotu myself.

Did I do the right thing by giving him the option to get help for us before I talk to him again?

  1. Wow, this is really affecting you. Yes and no, yes because I feel it's a good idea to seek professional help. A third party person who see everything from another point a view, that's what will help you bring unity back between a Father and his Daughter.

No it's not the right thing, because you had to go through such drastic measures in order to repair the relationship you have or once had with your pop's.

Hey if he disagrees to seek professional help, don't let this set back bring you down. Hanna, everything we go through we go through because we could handle it. All the great hero of our life time went through drastic, emotional, and very difficult situations in there lives. Imagine if everyone in the world gave up when hard times come down on them, yes it’s difficult and yes it’s something you wish you don't want to experience, but we all face these moments in our live when situations like this will either MAKE YOU or BREAK YOU.

Although at a young age its very difficult and it may not seem normal, this trial is a preparation and a foundation for the rest of your life. Because you can very easily just give up, which will set you up for further set backs in life. Keep this in mind, "Inside the disorder and chaos of the things in our lives, all continues a perfect order and master plan." Be strong, never give up, it's only going to get harder, let me be the first to say, "welcome to the human race" no one said it's going to be easy.
