Question:

Did I get screwed over with online shopping?

I ordered a spare RockBand guitar from a Yahoo! supported online store, VivaZone.com. It was on sale for $37.99, and with shipping, it came out to $51.01, which is considerably cheaper than other guitars. I received the guitar promptly, but only to find out the whammy bar was completely defective, and the strum bar was so loose it only caught half the notes strummed. I tried contacting the return department of VivaZone.com, only to find out the domain is permanently denying any emails. When clicking on a link directly from VivaZone.com to take me to customer service, I get a bad 404 request, showing me the site is not working. I tried calling the number, 213-257-5877, only to get a disconnected signal.

What do I do? I've used online shopping for years and never had this problem! Should I suck it up and cut my losses, figuring I got screwed over, or try contacting more people? No one is able to respond, so what should I do? Is VivaZone.com out of business? Please help!

  1. i'm sorry to hear about your problem. you do have the right to get your money back from a defective product. you should continue contacting the site and maybe you'll have more luck next time.

  2. It doesn't sound like you'll be able to recover your money back, contact your local Better Business Bureau and file a complaint, meanwhile keep trying to contact/
