  1. Depends on how much your net tax liability was for the year.  If it was $300 or less, you got the right amount, $300 fo yourself and $300 for your child.  If you got a letter saying you get $600 for yourself and have zero qualifying children, and your child was your dependent and under age 17, you might have filed your return with an error and still get more - see the last question at http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,i...

    Your net income tax liability is one of the following depending on which form you filed:

    · On Form 1040, the amount shown on Line 57 plus the amount on Line 52;

    · On Form 1040A, the amount shown on Line 35 plus the amount on Line 32; or

    · On Form 1040EZ, the amount on Line 10

    Or go to http://www.irs.gov/app/espc/ and enter the info from your tax return

  2. THAT IS  RIGHT  !!  You were not expecting millions were you...

  3. N O you got  the right amount.

  4. Go to www.irs.gov

    Click on the links about the Stimulus payment. If you have a dependent, I was under the impression you were supposed to get more than that. But you probably got less than $600 and then got some for your child. Which equals $600 exactly. You probably didn't get $600 just for yourself.

    But if you owe back taxes, or have any outstanding loans, the government will take that out of your stimulus check.

  5. The rebate amount is based on the lesser of your income tax liability if your AGI is greater than your standard deduction amount plus the personal exemption amount (twice the personal exemption amount if MFJ) or $300 ($600 if MFJ). The maximum amount is $600 ($1,200 if MFJ). In addition you may receive $300 for each child claimed as a dependent that is under 17 years old and has a social security number.

  6. I heard somewhere that you got that much per person (adult person).

  7. You probably made under the amount of get the full 600 for yourself, so you only got 300. Then you got 300 for your child.

    So that would be where the 600 came from.

    EDIT: They might have gotten the same, but your tax liability is less because you have a kid. So you would have to make more before you start to owe. And the stimulus payment was based off of your tax liability.

  8. There has been a mess up with the stimulus checks, some people got two checks, some of us have not received our first one, and some have received incorrect amounts.  I would go to the IRS,s website and look into your situation.  Here is the website address.  http://www.irs.gov/

  9. That's right..

  10. Check your tax returns and see if the box for your dependent is check marked. If it is not than you did not get the money from your dependent.

  11. i just read today that the irs actually forgot to send some people the $300 for children and that they will be going back and looking and sending additional checks to those who were shorted. check the irs website!
