Did I kill my evergreen hedge?

Last year we did a sever cutting back on an evergreen hedge that was like a mustache on our house, there are no signs of recovery...did we kill them???

  1. all probability suggest you may well have killed it. Pruning it would have been a better idea, you may have been to severe on it and cut it back at the wrong time of year leaving it open to viral infections, pests and fungal diseases.

    A good way to tell is scrap some bark away from the main stem if it is green underneath it is still living although probably only just, if it is woody, you've lost it.!
