I had went on vacation to Venezuela, and I'm still here.. My passport said I could stay here 3 months, I've been here 6? So should I be worried about my citizenship? & did I or did I not lose it yet?? If I will lose it soon, when exactly? Or am I in the clear until I marry or fill out papers here.

  1. If you hold citizenship then you cannot lose it unless you either renounce it formally or have it taken from you formally (through the courts).  All you have done is violated the conditions of your Venezuela visitors visa which could get you arrested down there.

  2. YOU ARE STILL A BONAFIDE CITIZEN OF THE E.U. YOU CAN STILL CHECK WITH THE LOCAL MIGRA OFFICE. YOU COULD BE FINED IF THEY DON'T KICK OUT RIGHT AWAY. BUT I'M NOT SURE IF THOSE CHAVEZ PUPPETS WILL GIVE YOU A BREAK. REQUEST FOR AN EXTENSION. HAY FINAS.

  3. You did not lose your US citizenship but contact the US Embassy immediately and inform them of this issue as it could help you from being arrested for violating your visa.

  4. You may have problems with Chavez and la migra in Venezuela, but GW still loves ya! Not to worry, if Mr. Chavez decides to hold onto you until America finally surrenders to scientific socialism, you'll still be an American. If I were you, I would worry more about local law enforcement and less about Uncle Sam.

  5. The U.S. Embssy is not going to do anything for you except tell you to go home!  If you try to re-enter Venezuela in the future, you will probably be turned away.
