My cycles are normal. My last period was 6/15/08 and on 6/29/08 I had the egg white strechy mucus. we tried every other day and i am not prg. But I am wondering did I really ovulate then? Its now day 38 of my cycle and I have not had a period. I had cramps when it would have normally came but AF never showed. So did I ovulate then or is it only 2 weeks BEFORE your menstral cycle and I didnt ovulate then but could have (say if I start today then 2 weeks ago instead) Im using OPK and BBT and the mucus was right on schedule but now Im confused.....help!

Tested neg at doctors office and on hpt. Did I ovulate when I had the fertilr mucus and now stress has made me last for AF or did I ovulate later than I thought or maybe not at all.....

  1. Ovulation is always around 14 days before your NEXT period. It ranges from 12 to 16 days, but anything under 10 days or longer than 18 days is unlikely to sustain pregnancy. This is true of all women, everywhere. If you have irregular cycles, it's the FIRST part of your cycle that varies (the 'follicular phase') while the 'luteal phase' is around  weeks.

The problem here is that while EWCM can be a god sign of ovulation, it's not totally reliable. Some women get it several times each cycle. OPKs are normally pretty good, but the only true way to know if you ovulated is to chart your BBT temperatures (http://www.fertilityfriend.com)

Hope this helps and good luck!

  2. Ovulation varies from person to person, so its not just two weeks before your cycle. It sounds like you've got a longer cycle this time.

It also sounds like you're doing all the right things with charting your BBT and checking your CM. All I can say is to keep it up and as soon as you see the EWCM just start BD every day until it dries up.

Try to remember that even with everything 100% perfect and doing everything at the right time, there's still only a 25% chance of becoming pregnant. :(

    Lots of dust to ya
