Ok, so I found this old game hanging around, you know, where in the world is carmen sandiego. So I decided I'd install it in my computer and have a little go. When I installed it everything was going fine until something popped up saying "We strongly recommend before installing you should run a check to delete other quicktime programs before installing this disk. You can skip or accept." I said skip and it goes "Are you sure? We strongly recommend it." So I went back and did the accept thing. Suddenly I got a sort of close up blurry pixelated version of my desktop and panicked heaps. I waited a second and a little bubble popped up saying "Sorry, you need quick time version 2.1 or higher to run this program" then quit back out and the screen went normal again. I'm worried I uninstalled something that was needed on my laptop to run computer games. Someone help, because it's not my laptop, it's my sisters!

  1. Many interactive games use different video browsers. e.g quicktime, realplayer, to play or view their games. When you boot your computer they all start running, thus slowing down your computer. If you can turn off these extra programs and only use them when you play the games you will have less problems. Go to start then run, type msconfig and go to startup and turn off these extra running programs.

  2. I would say because it is such an old game....it was an older quick time and definatly out of date go to one of the quick time update sites for the newest version or transfer it through a usb in safe mode then install to correct the problem. good luck

  3. okok

    chill

install quicktime , just google it

    now

carefully delete every file related to that game
