Well I'm 13. Basically all I did all summer was play bball, though I got really good and improved and had fun, I feel that it wasn't worth it, all year I wanted school to end because I hate it so much. Now that I was free, for the past month all I did was play sports, work out, play games, go on the computer and hang out with friends. SOmetimes I got so bored, I actually cleaned, lol. I did go to 6flags HH in NJ and next week is my little borthers birthday so we're going to Sesame Place so I wanna know if it's fun there for a 13 year old?

What are some things I can do in the last 2 weeks of school that I can do to finish off the summer because I don't want to feel like I wasted it ?

BTW, I cant do stuff like mow lawns, crafts, volunteer, blah blah, I live in Brooklyn, so it's more of a city type life.

  2. Just keep doing what you have been doing, and anything is better than school right? lol good luck

  3. you didnt waste it

you just should go to movies and stuff

oh and you could make a youtube video

  4. No...if you did what you enjoyed then that is all that matters. It sounds like you had a good summer. Honestly Sesame Place may not be that much fun for a 13 year old. To enjoy your last few weeks of summer maybe go to 6 Flags again or just hang out with friends?

  5. Sounds like a full summer to me!  You don't have that many more summers to be young and unfettered with financial responsibility.  You are still developing socially, so spending a summer being social is a really important part of becoming the adult you will soon be!

Perhaps this is a good time to turn your mind towards school.  If you have two weeks left, it is time to make sure you are all ready for school.  Are your clothes ready?  Is the place you do homework a bright, peaceful, clean area?  Do you have all your school supplies?  I know this doesn't sound like big fun, but it will help you start your school year off right!

If you don't like that idea, you might like this one even less:  Perhaps it would be helpful to start reviewing the material you learned last year, especially in the subject that you happened to find the hardest.  It might help you more than you could ever imagine.  Did you know that because summer break is so long in the United States that most students forget a lot of what they learned the previous year while they are on summer break?  The first few months of school are usually dedicated to teaching students the stuff they forgot from the last April, May, and June.  If you take half an hour per day to review your hardest subject for the next two weeks, you are going to have a HUGE advantage over the other students who didn't bother.  Everyone could use a leg up in school, so why shouldn't you be ahead of the pack.

Finally, let's face it, kid, you are in New York City.  There is a TON of cool things to do, and people come from all over the world to check them out.  You have some great museums including the Museum of Natural History that are fun and interesting to explore, you could spend a day in Central Park, you could visit the many interesting historic sites around the city, all for the price of public transportation.  Why not take time to go to some interesting and fun places in NYC with your family or friends, and have a really good answer to the question "What did you do on your summer vacation?"
