  1. Idk, but Holyfield's awesome.

  2. Not at all.  Ike and Evander had little in common except the fact that both are usually in excellent shape.  I like the reference to Ike being similar to a ''Conditioned Ray Mercer".  It's true that their styles are more similar to those between Holyfield and either of them.

Holyfield was a much better boxer than Ibeabuchi.  He did everything correctly in the ring.  The last boxer to "BOX" so close to the Text book style was Joe Louis.  No One since Louis Boxed as well as Holyfield.  Some since than would beat him but Evander mixed and threw his punches the "Closest thing to Perfect" as a boxer could.

I think the following would beat Holyfield, Louis, Holmes, ALI, Lewis and Maybe Forman, but ALL of them lacked the Total Package that Holyfield possessed.  Ali and Holmes could "Out Box" him but you can't learn from watching ALI.  He does nearly Everything wrong.   His ability allows him to get away with it.  Holmes has the best jab and a better ability to hurt you but Holyfield throws every other punch better.  Holmes still wins but Evander is the better Pure Boxer.

Ike Ibeabuchi, though formidable in his own right, doesn't come close to the boxer Holyfield is.  He MIGHT beat Holyfield but NOT by Out Boxing him.

  3. Holyfield in his prime in the early 90's had beautiful footwork. He was able to circle opponents with rythmic, almost "ghostly" grace. His agility was second to none with his in and out strilkes. Holyfield's reflexes were out of this world, and his devastating counterpunching was simply the greatest in heavyweight history. Ike had none of these above mentioned abilities.

Now because Evander Holyfield was the most well rounded heavyweight in terms of his skills and adaptability he had an incredible ability to totally change his tactics in mid fight and switch from outside boxing to "Brawling on the Inside". Holyfield's inside brawling abilities were as terrifying as his outside fighting was beautiful. This is perhaps where you may be noticing the similarities. They had a similiar "chest to chest approach" with their vicious slugging and inside warfare.

Ike was perhaps overall a little more similiar to an in shape "Merciless Ray Mercer" in his boxing style. But it terms of brawling ability I certainly understand why you asked the question. Good question Mathew!
