Did Indians make the right decision in not allowing a person of foreign origin to rule them?

I am talking Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, a converted Hindu and a wife of an Indian. It's not that Indians do not accept a woman to boss around.

Ok, I accept that she had little knowledge of the Indian culture and it's History.

Indians are known for their hospitality to a guest, above self.

Would it have been better if this decision had not been taken? If so, what could have been the gains? Otherwise, as the case is, what have you gained?

Your opinion makes a difference for the future!

  1. I am American, and I sensed Ms. Gandhi's being PM would bring division, not unity. She was wise to accept Mr. Singh as PM.

  2. Yes. Contitutionally it is possible if the reciprocal agreement exists. Now in this case, Italy does not accept an Indian to head their country, as a reciprocal India cannot accept an Italian to head India.
