Did It's a Small World at Disneyland Ca. get torn down?

nope. they're re-modeling it or something. Opens in November or September.

Small World closed January 2008 for a major refurbishment. They are replacing the 40 year old fiberglass flume and redesigning the boats, both to accommodate heavier passengers but also to eliminate some of the sharp turns where boats typically got stuck. They are installing some Small World style Disney characters in various sections, replacing lighting and sound systems, fixing the ceiling, and probably installing cameras.

Small World is scheduled to open late November 2008 as Small World Holiday.

Truth be told the passengers were getting a lot heavier since the 50's so they had to redo the boats so that they can hold more lbs. Yep that's right Americans are getting super duper big super duper fast lol its sad but true. The ride will open once again this fall.

They are just making the seats bigger so curvy guests can fit in the boats.

It did not get torn down.  They are just remodeling it.  Don't worry it will be back by winter.
