  1. Here's one scripture that goes into a fair amount of detail re: Jesus claiming to be God's Son:

    John 5: 16

So the Jewish leaders began harassing Jesus for breaking the Sabbath rules. 17But Jesus replied, My Father never stops working, so why should I? 18So the Jewish leaders tried all the more to kill him. In addition to disobeying the Sabbath rules, he had spoken of God as his Father, thereby making himself equal with God.

19Jesus replied, I assure you, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. 20For the Father loves the Son and tells him everything he is doing, and the Son will do far greater things than healing this man. You will be astonished at what he does. 21He will even raise from the dead anyone he wants to, just as the Father does. 22And the Father leaves all judgment to his Son, 23so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. But if you refuse to honor the Son, then you are certainly not honoring the Father who sent him.

24 I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.

25?And I assure you that the time is coming, in fact it is here, when the dead will hear my voice the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live. 26The Father has life in himself, and he has granted his Son to have life in himself. 27And he has given him authority to judge all mankind because he is the Son of Man. 28Don't be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God?s Son, 29and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to judgment. 30But I do nothing without consulting the Father. I judge as I am told. And my judgment is absolutely just, because it is according to the will of God who sent me; it is not merely my own.

  2. Do you need any other proof.. You exist right? Why did a man from donkeys ago have to say so? Where's your faith?

Believe my words, we are all Jesus.

  3. When questioned by the High Priest, before he met Pilate, He first said "It is you who says so" but later on admits it, causing Caiphus to rend his garments in mock pain.  There are other passages in the New Testament as well, as when he asked Peter who he thinks Jesus is, and Peter replies: "The son of G-d", whereupon Jesus establishes the basic church hierarchy we Catholics live by still and makes Peter the Rock, or leader of Jesus's church on Earth, and enjoins him to lead well, for whatever he and his followers loose or bind on Earth will be loosed or bound in Heaven, as well.

  4. He admitted it at His trial.

Mark 14: 60 And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, "Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?"

61 But he was silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, "Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?"

62 And Jesus said, "I am; and you will see the Son of man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven."

  5. We have no concept as to if he even existed forget about what he said or thought.

  6. As far as my knowledge there is no scripture where Jesus said he is son of God. Bible, Quran and all other religious scriptures were written after Jesus, Mohamed and all other religious personalities. There is no book written by themselves. All written by others...

But there is only one holy book which is of Sikhs is written by their Gurus. But even in there Gurus have never said that they are son of God, prophets, or God himself. They always said they are ordinary human being.

  7. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

In this case, only begotten is a translation of the Greek word "Monogenes", "mono" meaning "one", "genes" (like genetic, genes) refering to a common nature. Jesus saying here He is the only son of God with the nature of God, different than we can be children of God

If perhaps you are seeking a more direct statement of His sonship, consider John 10:36: "do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?"

  8. If you look at John 9:35-37 you will see that Jesus refers to himself as the Son of God.

But as far as calling himself the Son of God.  This does not mean son in the traditional sense we think of it rather it carries the idea of identical in nature  We have several expressions that we use to carry the same idea; chip off the old block and the apple does not fall far from the tree.

When Jesus said that he was the Son of God he was claiming that everything God is, he is.

  9. If you look over the actual words attributed to Jesus anywhere in the Bible, you'll notice that the dude seriously loved to speak in metaphor and parable.

Dude can't even eat some bread and wine without making some big, hairy symbolic deal out of the affair.

I think that taking anything he said at literal face value is seriously missing the point of his entire message.

  10. Did Jesus ever claim to BE God is a more important question. And I truly believe the answer is no.

We are all children of God in a figurative sense.

  11. Jesus is God's Son in that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:35 declares, "The angel answered, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.'

  12. Jesus said,"I am the Son of God." John 10:36

  13. Define "literal". He said he was in pretty simple terminology.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:16-18)

"All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him, may have eternal life; and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." (John 6:37-40)

But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God." "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" "He is worthy of death," they answered. (Matthew 26:63-66)

Why am I getting a thumbs down? I'm just quoting the bible.

  14. I found this website very insightful and they have managed to break it down quite simply. Read this in its entirety, and draw your own conclusions. I strongly suggest praying to God for the ability to understand the Scriptures provided in this website. Also, ask Him for discernment as to if this is the truth. Even if you do not believe, the answer will not be given in the way you would prefer, if you do not go to God for the answer. It would even be better and clearer if you ask Jesus to tell you. Be careful as to the way you ask this please. Make sure you are humble and seeking only to find the truth. www.jesus-is-lord.com/jesusgd2.htm The website is titled: Jesus Christ is God Incarnate   Follow your heart. Love, Ivy

  15. Throughout the New testament we see Jesus speaking about God as His Father, and Himself as His Son.

Read John 5:17-30, this is just one example.

Children of God we are if we are born again. There is a big difference between Jesus as a Child of God and between us. Jesus is God (one of the three person), and He is the promised Messiah. We, on the other hand, become Children of God because of Jesus, because of His Sacrifice (if we believe in Him and accept Him as a Saviour).

  17. Many times.. Haven't you read the gospel?

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

      26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

John 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

36 He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?

37 And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.

38 And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

I think this verse makes it clear Jesus ask the man if he believed int he Son of God then told the man he was the Son of God and the man worshipped him...that's more than the typical children of God.\

Edit to Amal the source of  Kl's answer is the words of Jesus Christ. Instead of telling someone to use their head how about trusting the word of God rather than a dead man who did not know him?

A prophet of God resonably would have to agree with God would he not?

Read the words of the prophets and compare them wiht the words from Muhammad and see if he was indeed a prophet of God.

  18. He claims to be the only Son of God.  He claims to have always been with the Father, and predicted His return.  He also said that no one comes to the Father except through the Son, i.e. salvation is only through faith in Jesus Christ as the only Son of God.

Jesus claims that He and the Father are One -- John 10:30.

In fact, Heb. 1:8 records God the Father speaking about His Son, Jesus, and identifies Him as God.

  19. Jesus did NOT state he is God!

It's said in the bible that Jesus was "Sent by God". This makes him no different than Mohummud (sallahu aglahim wasslaum). Jesus NEVER says that he is GOD or the SON OF GOD anywhere in the bible. Others call him the Messiah and LORD, but Jesus never does himself.

Anyone could clearly read, that he is a Prophet! Not a God

Jesus was a Human, humans have limitations and God has no limitiations, so how can you say he is God when he clearly has limitations.

STUPID, people who Inovated the religion, it's like saying a square is a circle.

NO way is Jesus GOD! ahaha, it's laughable

Come to Islam, it is the truth, christianity has no more credability, it's a lost religion, it's not what it once use to be when Allah, sent it down.

But now we have beautiful Islam, and my beautiful Muhammed (sallahu aglahim wa salalum) I love my prophet Muhammed and his world is the final message, so come to islam sister, christianity will not satisfy you mentally, spiritually or in the here after

May Allah (subhanna wata aglaah) Guide you to the beauty of Islam

    ..........................

    KL sources are not credible!!

Jesus, is not GOD, seriously just open your MIND!! It's so clear...!
