  1. Brian Smith played 30 first grade games- 13 for St George 1973 and 74; 17 for Souths 1975-1976, 1979.

  2. Its brian Smith, He's been around for ages. HE played for the Dragons

  3. The other guys have answered about his playing days, but about him as a coach...

He was the St George coach in the 90's when they lost consecutive grand finals to the Broncos...then got off side with some of the players, and the club walked him.

He was a commentator for ABC football for a while, and alongside Warren Ryan (a familiar name to Knights supporters) before heading over to the UK Superleague to coach Bradford when they were down and out...he took the Bulls to a higher competitive level and they have been fixtures at the top of the UK ladder since.

Things were just tragic at Parra - no idea why.  He is a great mind with very good attacking plans and knows how to win...maybe someone else can clue me in...I know the flagship players couldn't cop him and that put the board offside (maybe that's a recurring theme with him?)

The Knights may have lost Hagan, but the replacement is a real football guy and will be good for the fanatic fans there.
