I had the opportunity to direct manny pacquiao in the philippines before. He was one of the host on a reality boxing series we did for ABS CBN (on the Philippine local channel). During one of the breaks, I was surprised when he threw a decent head kick to one of our punching bags on the set. I asked him if he ever did martial arts. He said that he took up a Korean Martial art. It's not Tae kwon-do. I forgot the name, but It's not thai kwon-do. Probably one of the more martial arts oriented (as opposed to sport based martial art) Korean art.

He trained and sparred in Muay Thai in Thailand. Rumor has it it was part of his conditioning before Delahoya. There currently are numerous Muay Thai camps in Philippines, as well as competions. Heres a pic of Pacquiao training in Thaiboxing;

Kickboxing is tha american version of muay thai.  Not the other way around.

yes he did, thus you can see it in posturing, angles and swift retaliations. You can also see it in his stance more often. i thought he would throw a kick during the de la Hoya fight because of the stance.
