To appeal to Hillary Clinton supporters, especially female ones? I read a story about how many supporters of her are torn between McCain and Obama after she left the race.

  1. absolutely!! the only way to go!!

  2. If people supported Hillary it should have been for the changes she promised, not because she is a woman.

  3. i seriously hope that the women who wanted hillary to win are smart enough to see that clinton's politics are completely opposite of palins... palin is not clinton.

  4. Even if he did; big deal!

The Democrats made history when they nominated a black man.

The Republicans have made history put a female on the ticket.

    Get over it you all.

  5. I am a Republican and was praying he would be smart and pick a woman.  Of course he is trying to appeal to the scorned Hillary supporters; hopefully he will pick up quite a few votes with his pick.

  6. absolutely...

Let's put the shoe on the other foot say sarah palin was instead a man we'll call him phil.

Phil is 44 years old man and grew up in a small town in Alaska.  Phil was a basketball star in high school in this small town of less than 9,000 people.  After high school phil got a BA in journalism from the university of Idaho.   After graduating phil worked on and off on a fishing boat and as a sports anchor.  Then phil served on his home towns city council for a few years before becoming mayor of that same small town for six years.  Then Phil served as gov of alaska the third smallest state in the country population wise for 21 months before John McCain a man he met once asked him to be VP.

If it were a man it's obvious there were more qualified individuals but somehow since it's a woman it's ok.

  7. yep he's that desperate.

  8. Well then you can thank McCain for sending them back to Obama cause this chickidee is hated by Hillary supporters.

    Read the blogs babes....

  9. I have no doubt that was a consideration. It wasn't required as that McCain already is headed for the largest victory in US Presidential history (Obama's support is a delusion revealed by simple math).

However, while no hard core Dem will vote for McCain (I suspect they will vote independent this year) some moderate and conservative Dems are already voting for McCain and this choice will just draw more women from that group.

  10. probably trying to get some of them

  11. I think it would turn women off more to vote for McCain because he chose Palin soley due to her being a woman; male sexist exploitation...

  12. More than just women- although she did go after Hillary's supporters pretty blatantly in her first speech by praising her and playing lots of ridiculous girl-power music, some pundits speculate that this is also an attempt to reel in the Evangelical base, which would give McCain a huge boost

  13. He picked her to appeal to the right wing base of the Republican party, for as a "maverick" he is considered too liberal for many Republicans...now he has a conservative on his ticket and they are jazzed about it.

  14. No I don't think so, she is fabulous and perfect for a REAL GREAT CHANGE!    Both McCain and Palin want to get rid of the corruption in Gov't!  She is the most successful Governer in the country, her population is small but she has done more for Alaska in 1 year than the last 12 governers have done combined!  NOW THAT IS CHANGE!

  15. Sure he did.

It was a great move and Hilary supporters are already seeing that Palin is a great choice for VP.
