Question:

Did McCain go to far last night? (Again)?

Last night on the Tonight Show, Jay Leno said he would pay a million dollars to him to say how many houses he had. This was a perfect opportunity to joke and save face, Jay basically handed it to him. Instead John McCain after having been joking the whole interview started reciting his POW time again.

Is he going to use this as an excuse for every uncomfortable situation for the rest of his life?

If he bombs Russia, Is it because he was once a POW?

Is being a POW a reason to start wars?

  1. POW is enough for me. I'm voting him in.

  2. It's pretty sad when you label the sacrifice of a man who was imprisoned and tortured for his country for years as an excuse. What has Obama done that compares?

Only a total loser would be so cynical about the man's sacrifice. I don't care how many times he drags it out, he deserves your respect. But I don't think you know what the word means.

  3. It's hard to believe that there are a few American people who cannot or will not see how mentally unstable McCain is.  How much more proof do they need that McCain is not the person we want in charge of the button that releases all our nuclear arsenal. Bush needlessly attacked Iraq, McCain could destroy life on Earth.

  4. In his view, he deserves the Presidency.  He'll say and do whatever it takes.

  5. McCain did a great job. McCain would be a great change

  6. A noun, a verb and POW.  That's all he is.  That's his whole campaigne.

  7. In the past, McCain refused to use his POW status as a political crutch, and for that he was greatly admired.  Now, his mantra is "noun, verb, POW".  We all salute his bravery and how he sacrificed for our country, but this tragic episode in his life does not in itself manifest good or decent judgment.

  8. We're all sick of hearing about how he was a POW. I doubt anyone forced him to become a fighter pilot back then. Piloting a plane or helicopter in the military during wartime comes with risk of being shot down and captured, and he must have known that.

He should also try to explain the origins of his houses and condos. Having seven houses, while a lot for someone in this economy, isn't necessarily a horrible thing, especially since family members live in at least one of them.

  9. Hey, it's his Theme song, like Sinatra had "My Way".

  10. I thoroughly respect McCain as a POW.  I did not even know my father served in Vietnam until well into my adult years.  Men carry their scars differently.  Although, in hindsight I now understand my father's erratic behavior he has never used his service as Vietnam as a crutch or an explanation.

Rather he takes personal responsibility for his gaffes, as should McCain.
