Did McCain shoot first, before asking questions?

NBC just announced, that Republicans have hired a group of attorneys to go to Alaska to do some deeper vetting of Palin. Too many surprises?

Because he only met Palin once, I would have to think so. If some of  these rumors are true, Palin should have stepped up to the plate and discussed how these background issues could hurt the republican party. It is similar to Edwards running for the presidency with his undisclosed affair. If there are skeletons in the closet, they need to be announced before the press gets a hold of them. It looks shady and hurts the whole Rep/Demo ticket. Everyone makes mistakes. Take responsibility and then move forward. Don't hide in the shadows and hope that it never comes out. It is extremely irresponsible in my opinion.
