My family and I are watching the Olympics and we think Micael Cavc let Micahel Phelps win because there is no way that I would let Phelps lose his record, I don't know only Cavic does..... Any ideas?

  1. Cavic clearly had the race, but he was not a good finisher.  Phelps has more experience in racing under pressure. Phelps threw his arms at the wall through the air, whereas Cavic tried to touch the wall under the water, which is mush slower.

  2. Yes. He purposely let Phelps win by .01! NO! No Olympian would do that especially if they are not from the same country.

  3. dat was an SPECTACULAR race

no i dont think n e body would let sombody else win da gold ur goin 2 win

  4. Watch Michael Phelps at Beijing 2008 Olympic swmming finals below.

  5. I don't think Cavic saw it coming... he slowly glided to the wall and like most of us, didn't expect Phelps to come from behind and slap against the wall. That's it. I mean, Phelps won fair and square.

  6. yea ok like he could adjust his speed so he barely loses by one hundredth of a second. rivals since athens, he just lets him win in an olympic race at the last second. because thats possible.

  7. They are just trying to tell a big story about Mihcael Phelps, but today we saw who is faster!

    EXCELLENT WORK MILORAD CAVIC!!!

    YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

    GLORY TO SERBIA!!!

  8. No... he tried to not let Phelps get in the record books.

  9. If you look at the slow-mo playback, you notice that Cavic has his hand and fingers pulled back. He didn't extend it. But Phelps has his hand and fingers extended to the max.

It was so a very close match between the two of them. The timer don't lie

  10. Wow American arrogance is limitless.

  11. if he intended to let phelps win, then giving phelps a .01 second margin isn't very much.  more likely, he tried to and just came up short in a valiant attempt.

  12. Yes there are a few arrogant Americans out there... and there are also a few racist pricks that always emerge to point that out in times of greatness.  Thank you to the person that was right on top of that we all applaud you for your own arrogance and ignorance.

To answer the question... Do we really know? Does anyone outside that small circle (Phelps, Cavic, Coaches, etc...) actually know?  Probably not.  So since this is a free country... Well,... where I am it is free.... I will express my opinion, but that's all it is; OPINION.  I think that if it was staged it was the most amazingly staged performance in the history of mankind, and they should all be awarded for amazing showmanship.  But do I really think he let Phelps win?  Of course he did--but unintentionally.  He gave up a huge lead.  He underestimated the greatest swimmer and athlete in the history of the games as far as I'm concerned. Phelps won by a heart-length... with the help of a giant..... well.... heart.

  13. well he tried to protest the fact the phelps did win, so i would have to say that would  be no

  14. No genuine sportsman would ever do such thing. Not even for money coz Cavic would be the best for 100m Butterfly in the world if he really could win and money cant but that!

  15. I doubt he let him win. Michael still has a few more chances to win gold. So losing one would't have hurt him too bad. They all go to the olympics with winning the gold medal in mind. I doubt he would just give that up to Michael Phelps.
