This article is a continuation of ‘Did Mourinho ever give up on Kaka?’.
It is quite interesting to note that the summer transfer window prior to the start of the current season almost saw Kaka part ways with Real Madrid.
Although at the moment a number of experts are willing to predict that the Brazilian international can finally find himself an important place at the Spanish capital, things could have been way different if the footballer had moved away from the Bernabeu.
Quite obviously, Jose Mourinho’s role at keeping Kaka at Los Blancos was more than significant. The head coach would not allow any leniency while discussing the transfer of the iconic midfielder to another team.
According to reports, an initial offer by Italian Serie A giants, AC Milan, was quickly snubbed by the Portuguese mentor. However, as time went on the link between Milan and the attacking midfielder grew stronger.
At one point of time, Kaka’s return to his former club appeared imminent and many suggested that both the player and the club were very keen on making sure that the transfer takes place.
However, there were also reports that the San Siro outfit were only interested in buying the playmaker on loan. Understandably, Mourinho was not willing to let the player go for free and hence he did not allow the transfer to take place.
Although a number of experts suggest that Madrid could have allowed Kaka to leave for loan or even on a cheaper price as by that time his place on the Merengues squad was completely overtaken by other team members.
However, the Special One did not allow the Brazilian to leave at any cost. Offers by other clubs, such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Paris Saint Germain were also snubbed.
PSG were also willing to pay an appropriate amount of money for the services of the 30-year-old, yet a deal could not be reached once again.
After having considered all of these things the main question is simple, did Mourinho keep Kaka because he believed in him? Or did he do it because of he wanted to milk more money out of the transfer.
That question cannot be answered without considering a number of other factors. These factors include the way, the Special One handled the press during the time when the Madrid number 8 was struggling to maintain form at the Santiago Bernabeu.
As ever, the 49-year-old manager kept emphasizing that the former Sao http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paulo-c29431 player has a future at the nine-time European champions. On numerous occasions, the veteran trainer asserted that Kaka will always have a place in the Blancos squad.
Even when everyone refused to acknowledge the attacking midfielder as an important part of the team, Mourinho kept stressing that he is a great player and that he cannot be replaced.
Moreover, the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan was also never shy of giving chances to Kaka. Whenever, the 30-year-old could feature, he was allowed to feature. It is a different story that the athlete’s fitness issues constrained him from playing at a regular basis.
This season that chance came in a friendly match and one has to say that Kaka took it very well. Scoring a hat-trick in that match set things on track for the Brazilian and now he finds himself in an ideal situation.
Although it is quite difficult to completely assert that Mourinho never gave up on Kaka, one can surely say that he played a role in helping him return to form.
