Did NASCAR ship the wrong tires?!?!?

They are already reporting on the news that NASCAR shipped the wrong tires to Indy? Where were they SUPPOSED to be used? How could this happen? What a joke that race was, even though Jimmie won! Goodyear should refund everbody's money and pay the team's expenses for the weekend, that would get them to figure things out in a hurry!

they were supposed to be used at Pocono.  In the past Pocono  and Indy tires were the same, but not with the COT.  They knew this and screwed up at the distribution center.

The tires were awful, and the only race for the lead was on pit road. Worst race of the year!

I'm very happy for Jimmie and glad he survived the fiasco. I think it is unacceptable to s***w up like that. You are right; they should have refunded everyone involved. I believe they need to figure out how this happened so it can be prevented in the future.

The details i got were that they thought they had the right compounds, they shipped the pocono tires over as a backup.  But then i heard them say the pocono tires were even softer!!!!  So that would have been wonderful 5 laps instead of 10 .

Absolutely the wrong tire.Harder compounds is what should have been used.Everyone put tony stewart down earlier this year for complaining about tires. Well wake up, He was right.Even mark martin complained.

Not sure where they were SUPPOSED to be used. Rumor has it they were destined for a track where the cars don't have to turn. Or, perhaps, in a money-saving move, Goodyear decided to recycle some USED tires: just clean 'em up, re-screen the yellow onto them, & away ya go. Hey, it beats seeing them go to waste being used as a soft barrier, right?

I think thats all they had mounted and balanced their Trego... Should of maybe brought that tire [softer] to use in practice maybe... to put some rubber down on the trac... I knew it would of threw everybody off... but still !!

no nascar did nothing wrong all they did was try something new just like they did for the COT they were nice enough to let them use other tires they could of said suck it up

Evidently they did. The announcers said that the tire wear never got any better so something was terribly wrong. It sounds like Goodyear just messed up completely.

Think of how much money these teams that hit the wall wasted with wrecked cars. So how is NASCAR making it cheaper for teams if they can't get the tires right and has cars slamming walls? Why did they not throw a read flag and change to the Pocono tires?

I'll say it again. NASCAR is unable to keep the playing field level. They can't even get the tires right. I'm beginning to wonder if this story about "wrong tires were shipped" is just a "cover-up" for NASCAR and Goodyear supplying the wrong tire compounds?

They knew yesterday during practices that there was a problem with the tire wear. Why did they not look into it before the race? Cover-up...!!!

The Pocono tires could have been the ones raced today. If so that means the tires for Pocono may be mixed up and be the Indianapolis tires. Oops...!!!
