I am 39 weeks preggers. I just came down with a horrible sinus/head cold yesterday! My nasal passage is so soar and my nose and sinuses are all stuffed up. It's killing me! Is this something pregnncy related or did I just catch something? Just wondering if anybody else got a cold right before delivery?

Thanks! :)

  1. Yes, it seemed like my whole last 2 months I was congested.

So much that I was worried about Lamaze breathing thru labor!  But it miraculously disappeared while I was in labor.

  2. I did. Unfortunately, my doctor told me I would have the cold until the baby was born. He said the body was too busy with the pregnancy to fight off the cold. He was right. Within a week after the birth of my son, the cold was gone.

  3. No, I didnt get a bad cold......I got pneumonia. I had my son Sep.3rd and on the 10th I found out I had it.I ended up going to the emergency room because I was coughing so much.

  4. I got a really bad cold. I took alot of showers, or my husband would boil water, and i would stand over it with a towel on my head. It helped alot. I tried to drink more fluids. Hope you fell better

  5. Right before I was really stuffed up too!  I would sleep with a humidifier next to my face.  I think it could very well be pregnancy related.

Congratulations to you though!  I hope everything goes well!

  6. I couldn't breathe through my nose for almost my entire preganancy.  I was addicted to nose spray for relief.  I forgot it when I went to the hospital for delivery and made my fiance go home to get it!  LOL  The good news is that shortly after I gave birth it went away.

You MIGHT have a sinus infection though.  You should call your family doctor.  They shy away from giving pregant women antibiotics.  Good luck mama to be!
