  1. All children under the age of 18 and legally living with their parents in the US automatically become citizens when their parents do -- there is no need for the child to apply, because it's an automatic right conferred by the US Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services upon naturalization of the parents.

The link below (on pages 13 and 14) specifically states the following:

"A child who is... [b]orn to one U.S. citizen parent and one alien parent or two alien parents who naturalize after the child’s birth...and is permanently residing in the United States can become a U.S. citizen by action of law on the date on which all of the following requirements have been met:

    • The child was lawfully admitted for permanent residence*; and

    • Either parent was a United States citizen by birth or naturalization**; and

    • The child was still under 18 years of age; and

    • The child was not married; and

    • The child was the parent’s legitimate child or was legitimated by the parent before the child’s 16th birthday (children born out of wedlock who were not legitimated before their 16th birthday do not derive United States citizenship through their father)..."

  2. Unless you are born here you have to apply to become a citizen.

  3. She was born in Moscow, not in Texas, so when she came to the US, she had to apply for citizenship just like her parents. Of course, it's unimaginable that a small child would be denied citizenship if the parents' request was granted.

  4. she have to apply also if she's not born in the USA..

  5. i dont think she had to apply coz she was born here in texas so ithink that would make her an automatic citizen of the US even if her parents arent
