Did New Orleans get hit in hurricane Ghustov??

Yes they got hit when Gustav was a Category 3 Hurricane. It has done some damage, like power outage and minor flooding. Gustav is now a Category 1 hurricane going torwards North Texas. It can still be dangerous, but the worst is over for New Orleans.

The storm made landfall to the west of the city.  The levee system held and New Orleans did not flood.

yes but it was not a direct hit.  They lost power and had high winds and rain but it seems there was not any major damage.  Most of the residents were evacuated, and now they are waiting to make sure the levys hold since the storm surge is still not at its peak.
