  1. As of today's Gallup Poll, Obama is at 49% and McCain is at 43% and that's in the middle of the Republican convention.  Obama is still ahead. Saying your a POW as your political platform can only take you so far.

I predict as someone else said, the debates will give us a better view of how things can shake out.

  2. Obama was expected to get 10-15% bounce from the convention. He only got 4-6%. You could say Palin had an effect.

You are only using one poll. Others have differernt results. The real results of the VP nominations and conventions will take another week to sort out.

  3. It does seem that way.  What I am wondering is, why after Palin herself called Clinton a whiner, are they whining about the media asking her to answer real questions about real issues.  Not one media person has asked the McCain campaign about her daughter anymore, they have asked why are they arguing that she has foreign policy experience and she just got a passport last year and has only traveled to two countries (Canada and Iraq).   So why is it that whenever they ask a question about Palin, the McCain camp (one of their former toadvisersrs mind you, called us a 'Nation of whiners) whines?  Is she better than Hillary?  Is she 'untouchable'?

  4. Post-convention bounces are traditional. Kerry and Gore saw even better post-convention numbers. How'd that work out for them?

  5. Um, last time I checked the U.S. Constitution, Gallup doesn't decide the election.

  6. The polls are up after the DNC and will vary as the RNC moves on - it's way too early to put any validity in these poll numbers.

The poll numbers after the presidential and vice presidential debates should provide a much better barometer.

  7. It is hard to know how much came from the Democratic convention, and, how much came from the Palin selection.

  8. That's exactly it. Throwing someone into the scrum just because you are trying to reach a different demographic, is just something that people are a little to smart not to see right thru.

  9. well in the last election the dems had a 15 point lead right before the election, doesnt mean  a thing, when it come down to it, people willl wake up and vote Mccain, or they will be sorry they didnt. God help us if Obama got into office .

  10. No.  Levi and Todd did, however
