But yes, he spoke English.  Most Europeans speak atleast 2 languages, English being the most popular.

er... if you listened to him a couple of weeks ago... which clearly you didn't... he said he was embarrassed that he didn't know another language during his own speech...

he also said he wished he knew another language...

and that's pretty much all he was saying about everyone else... that it would be great if we all learned another language...

talk about taking something out of context... geez...

I don't know another language.. But I will make sure my children do.. I think it's best for them... Is that hypocritical?? I'm not understanding the question...

Obama will be a great leader for this country, USA image will improve a lot over seas.

No. But luckily for him most Europeans are taught to speak English from a young age. It's only the English speaking countries that have got a bit lazy with their foreign language education. I guess they feel like they don't need to bother so much. Which is a real shame, because I would love to be fluent in another language. :-)

Most Europeans speak a couple of languages. He was speaking English and they understood him fine
