  1. Yes, he sounded presidential.

  2. He sounded like history in the making!!! He sounded like such greats as JFK, MLK, Malcolm X!!! Unbelievable!!!

  3. I thought his speech was weak in the beginning, when he was criticizing Mccain, but then suddenly he began to sound very well. I thought his comments about chasing Bin ladin to the cave were insincere and unnecessary.

  4. Ummm,uuuuuuu,hmmmmmm,welllll...NO!

  5. Yes, he did.  Did you miss his address?  It's available on the Internet.

  6. I thought he sounded optimistic and like a true leader...i have a lot of faith that he can turn this country around and help middle-class america not struggle to make ends meet, but live a comfortable lifestyle...he just had so many ideas and good points, while respectfully deflecting mccains points without completely bashing him...he sounded like the president we need to me!

  7. Obama sounded like the kind of president you wish for. The kind of president that America deserves. His speech was excellent, wonderfully delivered, and inspiring. It felt to me like he was honestly and truly President, almost as if he was accepting the nomination as the incumbent. I'm glad we will finally have a President who can speak again.

Even if McCain had the same exact speech set out before him I do not believe that he could have matched the honest conviction and power that Obama was able to deliver. McCain tends to stumble and stutter and that does not inspire confidence any more than his consistent losing words and his train of thought. Yes, people lose words and thought paths but as President you need to be more than the average person. I'm sorry that so many less talented people want to elect someone who is like them, who they would go down the street and see. I'm sorry, but to my way of thinking the most powerful person in the world needs to be a little bit better than the average Joe. I may enjoy their company, but in the end, I don't want their fingers on any buttons, let alone the important ones.

  8. no, just an actor

  9. Absolutely.

  10. YES YES YES

  11. Perhaps he did to people who have low standards as to what a President should be.  To me, no.  He sounded like a typical blowhard politician using the same worn out rhetoric of the past.  So much for "change."   The spectacle and the fireworks were ridiculous.

  12. Too many bells whistles and fireworks

looked more like a rock and roll concert than a presidential convention.

It was all double talk and rhetoric, you would think his speech writers could be as original as the guys who did the rest of the show.

  13. Yes he did! in 4 days the DNC manged to unite the party!

  14. Yes I think he did.

He sounded more Presidential than the President we have now ever sounded.

    Obama/Biden '08

  15. He sounded like a president but so does Frank Caliendo.

  16. Yes, one of the greatest speeches i've ever heard.

  17. He sounded like a great speaker.

    And he's a likeable guy.

"Sound like a President"  - no - he sounded like a politician.

  18. He tried. He left out the glorious catch phrase like, "Ask not what your country can do for you", or "four score and seven years ago"

  19. Who cares what he sounds like?  Are we going to get the US dollar back on track before the ship sinks?  They are forcing us into a different currency market slowly but surely and you're focused on how someone sounded!  Be real...how exactly should a President sound?  After Bush...are you serious?  Focus on the content and hold he who is elected accountable if he doesn't make good on what he says!

  20. No.  He sounded like a patent medicine salesman.  New programs, expand the federal government by 23% on less taxes.  Soak the corporations and they will just pass it through to us.  Corporations do not pay taxes they just collect them from us or they don't stay in business.  What a phony.

  21. Yeah, he sounded like a typical politician all platitudes and no substance.

  22. Yes and he is up in the polls again.

  23. President of the Socialist Workers Party

  24. Not at all it's sad he wasted such a great opportunity!

  25. yes, he sounded exactly like george bush. since that's what you're asking.

  26. No.  You might want to read Jimmy Carter's acceptance speech in 1976.  Obviously talk and action are two different things.  Obama's policies will mimic Carter's and the same problems that Carter had will creep up.

  27. Absolutely yes.

  28. NOT EVEN CLOSE

  29. He sounded like a typical Democrat to me.

    Blame Bush, give me power.

It's pretty much what they all do.

  30. No.  I was surprised to see CNN pointed out several inconsistencies, stretches, (lies) that he spoke. CNN !
