  1. Rumor, you're confusing Ted Kennedy, Palin's husband and their PG daughter story all together.

  2. That would be Sen. Edward "Ted" Kennedy! And it was a lot more than a DUI. Or it should have been. And the people who say it happened more like 40 years ago are right.

His passenger at the time, a young woman named Mary Jo Kopechne, died in the accident. They were going over a bridge.  He left her to drown and sped off to ponder his next move. I don't know whether Kopechne was pregnant at the time.

I seem to remember that a long time passed before he called the police. Supposedly he was "in shock" for about three days and that's why it took him so long to contact the authorities.

He reminds me of the Norah Jones song where she sings "Don't know why I didn't call..."

  3. No, you have the wrong man.

not Tom, maybe Ted, but lots more years ago than 20

  4. gee, that is a good one.  DUI in 1984 or Drunk and running around on wife and girlfriend killed when you run into pond.  Oh that's right, we don't talk about that.

  5. It was Ted Kennedy, and it was 40 yrs ago

  6. lol lol that was the dem hero Ted Kennedy.

  7. I think that was the Kennedy family.

  8. I believe that you are referring to Ted Kennedy.

Carol...that is funny...a "serious" dui?  No accident. Nobody hurt, and he was jailed (as is customary) and released.  How "serious" is that?  And he was 22 years old.  Typical liberal.  He is not even a politican, but what he did 22 years ago when he was 22 is huge...but Barry can smoke crack and it is swept under the rug.

scott...you are full of it.  Alaska state troopers do NOT look the other way.  They will cite and arrest you if you are a sliver over the legal limit.  However, they do tend to arrest and release you if you are only slightly intoxicated.  (I lived in Fairbanks for just over a year).  Guess what...Mr. Palin was arrested and released, so he would have been classified as slightly intoxicated.

  9. No, I think he killed a moose or something. He just took it home and Sarah whipped up a delicious stew.

  10. It was more like 40 years ago, and the person involved was Senator Kennedy.  No, the lefties going after Mr. Palin are very unconcerned about that drunk driver's past, or the loss of life that resulted.  He's a liberal...ya know.

    RIP, Mary Jo Kopechne

  11. That was someone else.  Sarah Palin's husband and she became pregnant and then planned an 'inexpensive wedding.'

"In her speech in Dayton today, Gov. Sarah Palin announced that she and her husband are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary, which means they were married on August 29, 1988."

On April 20, 1989 – less than eight months after they eloped – their first son, Track, was born.

I think I can guess the real reason why they eloped, and it wasn’t to save money on an expensive wedding.  The apple never falls too far from the tree.  Thanks for bringing out this important issue.

  12. Your thinking about Kennedy.  I can understand how you would get the two confused.  One is a rich guy from Camelot and the other is your salt of the earth kind of guy from Alaska  Very confusing.

  13. You've got a few things wrong there but that'd be Ted Kennedy you're referring to.  A big old Democrat for ya.

Palin's hubby got a DUI 20 some years ago when he was in his early 20's.  Considering he never got another, I'd assume he learned his lesson.

  14. It's ironic that the Chappaquidick incident was so swiftly swept under the rug and Ted Kennedy, because of the corrupt Democratic party, NO ONE went to jail for that murder.  Mary Jo Kopeckni's (sp) family had NO recourse against powerful Kennedy's.  Let's also not forget that Ted Kennedy's nephew did not serve any jail time for rape either.

  15. Do we get paid by the pound??

  16. He did get a DWI 20 years ago.  I don't know what the circumstances were, exactly.  I do know that Alaskan troopers often looked the other way unless the driver was thought to be extremely intoxicated, so the fact that he was able to ring the bell takes on a little more significance to me.

  17. Did Obama's father plot with the terrorists on 9/11 to destroy the World Trade Centers, or was that someone else?

  18. Maybe your thinking about when in 1963 Laura Bush was involved in a fatal car accident. Accounts indicate that Laura ran a stop sign and hit another car, killing its driver (classmate Michael Dutton Douglas).

  19. Wouldn't be surprised...

  20. Might have been one of the Kennedy's, ask Biden I think he was there, he's been around a long time

  21. Not election-related, since nobody who's running for office fits that description.  Maybe post in "history."

  22. No, I think it was Ted Kennedy.

  23. It was someone else--someone not at all involved in this election, who is likely to have passed away by the time of the next election.  And it was 36 years ago, not 20 years ago.  And the woman wasn't pregnant.

  24. Don't know the details but he had a serious DUI 22 years ago.

  25. That was Senator Kennedy, one of the biggest liberals and strongest Obama supporters in the Senate.

  26. no - try knocking on the kennedy's door.

Palins hubby did get a dui in 1986.

"Sources close to Sarah Palin tell The Brody File that the husband of the GOP Vice-presidential choice, Todd Palin, was arrested and charged with Driving under the Influence of alcohol back in 1986. He was 22 years old at the time. He was driving in a truck with some friends in the small southwestern Alaska town of Dillingham when he was pulled over for the DUI. As is customary, he was taken to jail briefly. Sarah and Todd Palin were high school sweethearts so they were dating at the time. The Brody File can also report that there was no accident or injuries."

  27. He did have a DUI 22 years ago. But I hardly see how that matters--Bush had a DUI years before he ran for president, yet he was still elected president.

  28. It wasn't Palin and it wasn't Kennedy either as Kennedy's accident happened 40 years ago.
