Did Palin accept the VP nomination because others said no?

Seriously, I'm not too big on Republican't operatives but wouldn't someone like Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Mitt Romney, or almost anybody else been a better pick? It certainly helps the Democrats' chances, but come on!

We may never know. But I think McCain made this desperate move right off the bat.

I'll tell ya something interesting. 75% of undecided Florida voters said Romney needed to be on the ticket in their opinion. The next closest which I think was Charlie Christ R-FL was 13%. I'm sure Palin is very unsettling to the state of Florida.
