  1. he most certainly did.  i read the book and they even made a movie about him.  it's the australian version of seabiscuit.  fabulous movie.  i highly recommend it.

  2. he was an australian race horse. i don't know much outside the USA, so that's all i can tell you.

he did exist, by the way.

  3. Phar lap's skeleton and heart is on display at at the Victorian Museum in Australia.  So yes, he is real. Google Phar lap and read his amazing racing story

  5. yes, he did and was a true champion

  6. he sure did race sonny, he was the wonder from down under he won 22 g1 races including all the major wfa races in oz atleast twice and started the only odds on favourite in our great melb cup which he duly won.

he travelled on a long sea voyage to agua caliente and even with half his hoof hanging off, half fit and his first run on dirt against a crack feild of north americas best he embarrassed them after missing the start by 3lengths he cantered home.

Even hard nosed american turf writers after that race said they never seen a horse gallop like him and even stated he was superiour to the great us champion Man o War.

Like his trainer mr Harry Telford said to a journalist after his death "there will never be another one like him, Pharlap wasnt just a horse, He was the best".
