In the USA, with Tiger Woods gone, I know Mickelson's been seen as the big start on tour. Has he had an effect on ratings?

Not really - the world No. 2 has attracted headlines for his controversial choice of golf club rather than his play, at last week's Farmers Insurance Open, he bogeyed the first three holes of the final round. His appearance hasn't done much for tv viewers either, with ratings down some 2,000,000 (about 50 percent) since 2008 when Tiger Woods last appeared at the tournament.
