Now that Russia is going to agree to a cease fire treaty I was just wondering if Pres. Bush's strong words on Russia kinda scared them into thinking that America was going to pull some troops out of Iraq to kick some Russian ***.

Well, I just wanted some opinions.

Thanks!!!

  1. No, I've been reading different news sources and they're saying that the Bush Administration made Russia mad by comments they made towards Russia. I just hope that Bush didn't get us into trouble.

  2. George (PotatoE) Bush has that type of power?  Just when I thought no one took him serious.

  3. "In Tbilisi, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Bryza declined to say whether the U.S. would provide military support if Russia expands its assault."

    -

First off, there was no threat. And Medvedev knows that. They've simply accomplished what they set out to do -and it seems fairly clear that they realize it's over.

But, honestly would anyone REALLY want to start c**p with Russia with BUSH in office? Please. Be serious.

And what posible justification would we have? Come on now. Why the heck would we go in there and fight for Georgia even if the cease-fire hadn't have been put in place? It's obvious that Georgia was in the wrong to begin with - or, at least partially so.

On another note, concerning all this posts about the invasion -

People really need to learn that Russia is NOT our enemy. I'm sick of hearing all the "let's kick Russia's butt! Yeah! Go America" garbage. It's ignorant. They're a powerful ally, and they've helped us out countless times with our own little political blunder in Iraq. Everyone needs to show some gratitude and some respect, and stop being a bunch of patriotic morons.

  4. Ha ha ha ha ha LoooooL

Bush literally has no influence over Russia or Europe for that matter. Hence the sole reason Bush can use such hysteric language.

It was a proxy war, a test. Georgia attacked S.Ossetia with the full backing of US. The results came in and Russia made it clear it will protect its interests. This conflict is part of a bigger picture. So if this was a game, Bush got hammered.

Russians deliberately left by their own timing, to make sure Georgia wouln't dare again, deter other countries, and give a clear signal to US. The peace deal was actually brokered by French President Sarkozy.

  5. You must be kidding. You dont really think that Bush is going to scare them into peace do you?  Bush is just a pimple on the face of the world. unfortunatly the USA is a joke to some of the countries now, I just heard that he's buying some more love now from Georgia by sending them some money to rebuild what Russia tore down.

  6. America at this point is not scaring Russia into leaving. They left because they accomplished what had to be done.

America is sadly mis informed. Here are some facts your friendly propaganda machine has failed to tell the US citizens.

    1. Georgia attacked south Ossetia first killing many Russian peace keepers in the area.

2.Georgia bombed with rockets civilian home and apartments killing over 2000 people.

    3. There are now up to 40,000 refugees leaving Ossetia into Russia to avoid further genocide by the Georgian troops (Which are being trained and financed by your friendly government, tax dollars hard at work)

4.After almost two days of killing even with tanks in the streets running over children and elderly did Russia take action on early Sunday morning.

    5. Russia backed Georgia out of Ossetia with a little extra love saying do not do this sort of American invasion on them again.

    6. bush now gives a speech condemning not the attackers but the rescuers. What I find very bizzare if you listen to what he is saying word for word he is actually stating exactly what he is and has been doing with the invasion of Iraq based all on lies while the rest of the world look down upon America in hatred for the first time in this capacity ever in its short history.

7.He has made Russia angry rightfully so. This is nothing to be taking lightly for one we are trying to get any excuse we can go to to war with Iran, Russia sells arms to Iran and gets oil from Iran. SO you think this will be a walk in the park :) hehe

This my friends will get interesting we might finally get we deserve if we go poking our noses in others countries telling them how to run their lives. See the US government thought the rest of the world would sit back and allow tyranny to unfold like it has in our own country where we are all complacent in our governments crimes and make no gestures to hold public officials accountable. We have lost our patriotism by following  along when we should take to the streets. For you cannot change a no more a corrupt entity with letters or phone calls. No one is listening. We have people loosing their homes from bubble created by the federal reserve and then our government takes our tax dollars and gives 10 billion to Pakistan the biggest terrorist nation there was.

Do some thinking please America, don't believe what the TV says like its gospel there are reasons we are being told what we are.

  7. I doubt Bush scared them into anything.

  8. Russia backed down? When? After they had accomplished what they wanted: the conquest of the democratic republic of Georgia which will soon become a Russian protectorate guarded by Russian 'peacekeepers'. i.e. Russia conquers and keeps another piece of the world on their borders.

  9. I think his words were pretty weak. He said their actions are "unacceptable" but he did not mention any consequences. I bet Russia laughed off his speech and thought "Or what?" The problem is if NATO and/or the US does hold Russia accountable China will likely jump in and back Russia and all h**l will break loose.

So basically poor Georgia is screwed. Which sucks for the West because we look like p*ssies and we lost an ally in the East as we watch them fall to their demise.

  10. It has been well established that Russia has been encouraging acts of terrorism against Georgia with the desired affect of forcing Georgia to act militarily to stop the terrorist attacks thus giving them an excuse to have their fully mobilized military act on prepared plans.  The cyber attacks started three weeks ago too.  One thing is certain to most except the sadly misinformed Russians through their national socialist run (Putin's party) state media is that Russia was the aggressor.  The speech probably had little effect as the objectives were to get rid of the elected Georgian President, prevent NATO ascension, and to re-establish Georgia as part of the Russian empire.  They apparently think they have done enough to meet these objectives.

  11. No, it's  just Political Vaudeville. Don't forget that Russia is continuously lending us money to pay for the war. Being in debt is never a sign of strength.

  12. Russia stopped because Russia accomplished what they wanted to, which was to stop the Georgian military from committing an all out genocide. Bush has no power over them.

  13. In part, yes, but it is likely that Russia thinks it already got what it wanted, to scare Georgians into voting their President out of office and voting in a pro-Russian leader, improving Russian support for the national socialists, and to assure that NATO will not admit Georgia. Russia may have miscalculated, though and probably thought its lame excuses would ward off the type of world condemnation that it got plus it has pointed out to many who failed to see it earlier how similar the Putin party is to national socialism and what already happened in 1930s Germany. Still, Georgia killed any chance it had of joining NATO any time soon.

I think the main scare was at turning a "who cares" Europe into a condemning Europe and at losing influence in world bodies.

  14. Seriously?Get real.If Russia had any qualms at all it wouldn't have repelled the Georgians so forcefully. The manner in which they did had 'Don't anybody mess with us' written all over it.Bush's speech was too little, way too late and just made him look even more weak.
