Question:

Did Queen Victoria ever leave Great Britain to visit any of her colonies i.e. Canada, or India?

Someone told me she went to Victoria, BC, but I seriously doubt it but didn't know where to check for answer.

  1. Victoria visited Dublin, ireland as an official visit in 1900.

    Scotland - In June 1842 Victoria went to Scotland, traveling by sea.

    France -  In 1843 Victoria and Albert visited King Louis Philippe, she was the first English monarch to do so since the coronation of Henry VI  in 1431.

    Germany - In 1845 Victoria, with Albert, made the first of many trips to Germany, staying at Albert's birthplace, Rosenau.

    Ireland - Victoria's first official visit to Ireland was in 1849. The young Queen Victoria fell in love with Ireland, choosing to holiday in Killarney in Kerry.

    Italy - In 1879 Victoria visited Italy

    It was actually her sixth child and fourth daughter, The Princess Louise, Duchess of Argyll who served as Canadian Viceregal Consort, when her husband, then the Marquess of Lorne, was the Governor General of Canada.

    Queen Victoria herself never visited Canada, The Hudson's Bay Company officially named "Fort Victoria" after the great British Queen on June 10, 1843.
