Question:

Did Russia have a choice?

Do you realize that Russia was an appointed peace keeper by the agreement signed by the way by Georgia too and it had the right to cross the border? Its presence in Osetia was legal. You may complain all you like about aggression or the WW3 coming

but Russian interference was by law legal - and there's no claim to be made. In fact Georgia's President knew he left Russians no choice - according to their peace keeper's obligations.

  1. They were supposed to respond.

Bombing cities and launching an invasion of the Zugdidi region they weren't required to do, those're just a bonus.

  4. You always have a choice.  But, Russia had a legitimate rigth to drive out Georgia and use heavy force to send a clear message to Georgia's President.

  5. ITS GEORGIAN TERRITORY THEY SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO SEND IN THEIR OWN TROOPS RUSSIA IS THE AGGRESSOR!!!

Russia has been supporting those rebellions against the Georgian state. The Russian military has been causing the whole internal Georgia problem . Russia is simply medaling in Georgians internal affairs. The Legal obligation for Russia in ossetia WAS PASSED BY THE RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT IT DECLARED GEORGIAN MILITARY IN THE REGION ILLEGAL. IT basicly annexed the Georgian territory.

---- Last week, the Russian Federation passed a bill by which it made legal the de facto annection of a very significant part of Georgian territory. It is virtually said in the act that the Russian Federation does not already recognize jurisdiction of Georgian authorities regarding Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and will conduct direct relations with the separatist authorities. This is an unprecedented – after World War 2 – challenge, ignoring norms of both international law and conduct,” Saakashvili said.

  6. russia's a peacekeeper! it's a fairy tale that nobody believes in any longer

  7. You need to research what those Russian "peacekeepers" did while in a peacekeeping position.  But I think I've seen your posts on this issue before, so I'm pretty sure you're not going to change your mind.  You're part of the propaganda campaign Russia is putting out.

-- Yep, you are.  What a coincidence.

  9. Russia had every right to do what they did, and I for one am glad that Russia did it.Russia is about to stake claim in the world as the most powerful nation on earth. If the Georgian President would have thought for a couple of seconds he would have thought how stupid it was to make the Russians mad.. Now he knows, maybe our stupid worthless lose of a President needs to think for a second before he pisses Russia off to much too.

  10. Yes you are right. Russia has no choice. But how to explain it to people who know nothing about this? And believe what they say on television. There is information warfare. I am Russian, live in Russia. Nobody wants to fight. The war is really very frightening.

  11. Yes u are right.

The blood of this war is on Bush's and Saaka's hands.
