  1. unusually federer and sampras both use an eastern grip, whereas most players use a western or semi western grip.federer admits he experiments with angles and different shots all the time and can hit any shot, which ive seen myself!when sampras uses the eastern grip he preffered to keep the raquet face point down ,perpindicular to the ground.federers swing shape is different to sampras',his is lower than sampras',but after contact they both drive through the ball  very well and very hard with the hitting shoulder and the whole of the body.federer extends through so much on all his shots ,possibly more than anyone, whereas sampras over emphasizes on his wrap shots occasionaly .

in closing it seems there are 2 issues(non footwork related),with federers forehand shots jis elbow is bent and tucked in at the side and at the start of the forehand swing his wrist is laid back ,through the hit ,his wrist does not move, altho it looks wristy because of his rapid shoulder movement and forearm action, the wrist deosn not release until long after the ball has been hit.federer is arguably one of ,if not the greatest tennis players of all time and yes after careful analysis ,he generates far more topspin on groundstrokes than sampras or anyone in the game, althought when nadal puts topspin on a groundstroke it is very heavy ,but federers is much more acute and not as dead, its more flowing and has incredible control and accuracy and frequency and is very natural.hope this answers your question.

  2. federer is a rolling players whereas sampras was a flat player ... so sampras couldnt spin da ball...a huge drawback

  3. vaffanculo porca buttana troia c***o !!!!!!!HI

  4. No, even though a big part of his game was serve and volleying, the advancements in technology with racquet frames and strings make it a lot easier to generate topspin now. His big shots were mostly either flat or slice allowing him to take the net.

  5. no. he didnt. federer got more.

  6. No. Sampras hit very flat shots and when Fed plays against him, the ball just loops off Sampras' racquet.  Check out the NY Madison Garden game between the two of them. Sampras was shaking his head in disbelief quite a few times.

Sampras relied on fast courts. Federer also likes fast courts. They make for a more thrilling game.

  7. In a nutshell, No!

The reason is not the grip as they both used the same grip (eastern -ish!!).  The difference is that Federer has a slightly more modern version of the forehand with a bit more wrist snap in it!

There is a particular sequence to the shot that I am not sure you want to know, but it does add more revolutions (spin) to the ball/shot even if the ball speed is the same.

Let me know if you need more details everybody!!

  8. I highly doubt it because he used a Eastern grip as opposed to a Western or even a Semi-Western, which is much better for topspin.
