  1. It's clear that Gov. Palin did cover up her 16 y/o daughter's pregnancy and birth.  She clearly was not pregnant.  The absurd idea that after her water broke, she gave a 30 minute address to a Republican meeting in Dallas and then flew home to Anchorage (an 8 hour flight) while in labor, without in anyway alerting the crew of the plane, is obviously false.  Her 16 y/o daughter has missed several months of school due to "mono."  Mmm k.   Look at the pictures.  Read the reaction of the local Alaska press.  Read the utter disbelief of those who worked with her when told that she was 7 months pregnant.  Read what the flight attendants had to say when asked if they thought she was in labor on the flight.  Read about the kids who go to school with the daughter and knew what was up.

It's important to point out that what's crucial about this story is not the pregnancy itself, the lies and the cover-up....it's John McCain's judgment.  He didn't vet her.  Not even a little.  He only met her once before offering her the VP position!  What kind of judgment does that show?  McCain is reckless and impulsive.  Does anybody really think this lady should be one old man's heartbeat away from the Presidency?

    Documentation below:

    **************************************...

    from http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-69834

The nation has been abuzz today with talk of Sarah Palin, John McCain's surprise vice-presidential pick. The internet and news media exploded in the hours following the announcement.

Along with all the stories making their way through the news cycle is one regarding Trig Palin, her youngest child. Apparently, there has been suspicion, some reported through Alaskan media outlets even before the Vice Presidential buzz, that the child actually belongs to her daughter, Bristol Palin. Normally this would be a personal issue, but this becomes a public matter because of Sarah Palin's stance against abortion and birth control, promoting 'abstinence only' beliefs.

The story seems ludicrious, and surely the GOP workers that vetted her would have stopped McCain from choosing her if anything like this were true. Only, now it has come out that Governor Sarah Palin was not vetted properly. The McCain camp states that they didn't feel it was necessary.

Even if it is entirely false and ludicrous, people are talking about it, and are quite interested in it. It has cropped up on a number of liberal and conservative blogs and sites. One Republican blog pre-empted the rumors, urging people to support Governor Palin "no matter what happens." It is absurd to believe Barack Obama is a Muslim, but that hasn't stopped 10% to 15% of America believing it is true. It remains to be seen if this story will sprout legs. So far, no media outlet has outright disproved the rumor (which should be very easy to do), though the Anchorage Daily News has reported the rumor.

The believers have a few scattered points:

    1. Bristol Palin left school for an extended period of time, due to mononucleosis according to her family for the last 4-5 months of Trig's pregnancy. Some classmates claimed later that they had seen Bristol Palin pregnant.

    2. Sarah Palin did not reveal to anyone outside her family that she was pregnant until 8 months into her pregnancy. Even then, she showed no signs of pregnancy. Alaskan news outlets commented on this, but did not go further. There are pictures of her at Super Tuesday (just a month before the baby was born).

    http://www.adn.com/politics/story/339576...

She is notably a very trim woman, so it would likely be difficult to hide a pregnancy.

    3. There are supposed photos showing Bristol Palin having gained weight, possibly significantly so in the abdomen. I haven't been able to verify these.

    4. Sarah Palin went into labor in Dallas just before she was due to deliver a keynote address at the Republican Governors' Energy Conference, and flew to Seattle, then Alaska while still in labor.

    http://www.newsminer.com/news/2008/apr/2...

Supposedly, she was in labor during the 8 hour flight, and the crew and attendants did not know.

    (Quote from the Article Above):

""Governor Palin was extremely pleasant to flight attendants and her

stage of pregnancy was not apparent by observation as she didn't show

any signs of distress," Boren said."

This is extremely risky behavior, and you are advised by doctors, traditionally, not to fly once you are past 7 months pregnant. If airlines are made aware, sometimes they will prevent you from flying. Sarah Palin did not inform the flight.

    5. Sarah has had four children before, and a prolonged labor that lasted a flight from Dallas to Alaska is extremely unlikely, as labor times usually decrease with the number of births.

    6. There is also some rumor of an interview with a co-worker of Todd Palin at the oil fields in Prudhoe Bay (North Slope, where Todd Palin worked fo

  2. Daily Kos?  You might as well be citing Encyclopedia Dramatica.

If you actually follow the "source" of the story from Daily Kos to ADN, you'd see there's absolutely nothing in there that supports, infers, or even implies anything in the Daily Kos' "article"

And working in an oil field doesn't make one an oil exec.

  3. I do not believe this rumor mainly due to characteristics of Down Syndrome.  The older the mother the higher the risk of the baby having Down Syndrome.  Here is the statistics:

"At maternal age 20 to 24, the probability is one in 1562; at age 35 to 39 the probability is one in 214, and above age 45 the probability is one in 19."

The chances of her daughter (17 yrs old) having a Down Syndrome baby is very low (around 1 in 1700), where as Sarah (44yrs old) is very high (around 1 in 24).  People who propagate this rumor should be ashamed to be practicing in nasty rumor mongering, this is typically associated with GOP politics. See the link below and go down to "Incidence":

  4. Hahahahahahaha

  5. Consider the source.

    Vile and despicable tripe.

  6. Yeah, and George W. Bush blew up the World Trade Center, too.

  7. Reading the Daily Kos will rot your brain.

  8. We all thought Edwards was just malicious gossip....

Besides, she's a VP nominee - fair game.

  9. Of course not.  This and other Obama smears have been debunked at FightThePalinSmears.com

  10. 80% of Down's Syndrome births are to women under 35.

Your risk increases as you get older.

Why would a woman whose water has broken, get on a plane, fly 8 hours, and not seek medical attention until she got to a hospital where there is no NICU, when you know you're one month premature?

    http://www.philly.com/dailynews/features...

If Palin really was pregnant, her judgment is LOUSY.

However, since the doctor who supposedly delivered Trig Palin is not an ObGyn and no longer associated with Mat-Su where Palin allegedly gave birth, this whole story is extremely fishy.

Why didn't Sarah Palin release some medical records, any kind of records to the press to quash the Trig/Bristol rumors?

Then we could all move on from this soap opera.

  11. And Ken Star is actually an over zealous s*x perv.

    Liberals are pathetic!

Caption reads: "Sarah is now 7 months pregnant with her fifth child. "

Her daughter is sure not 7 months pregnant in that picture.

  12. I heard that Bristol is actually homeschooled.  Read this article:

    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article...

I think the rumor is just made up :)

  13. No.  Of course she didn't lie about having a baby to cover up her daughter's pregnancy.

The Governor, a vocal anti-choice Republican, chose to return to Alaska to have her 5th child despite the following risk factors:

    1.  She was leaking amniotic fluid (her water broke)

    2.  She was 44 years old, a risky age for childbirth.

    3.  The baby she was carrying had known "special challenges" (down syndrome)

    4.  The child was one full month premature.

    5.  She flew from Texas to Alaska on a commercial airline (Alaska Airlines) while while leaking amniotic fluid, a 10 or more hour flight depending on the length and location of her layover.

    6.  She did not inform any of the airline staff of her condition.

However, Gregg Erickson, a reporter from the Anchorage Daily News, told the Daily Kos that the rumors had been investigated and debunked.

So it appears that these behaviors are not those of a person faking/covering up a pregnancy but merely those of someone with terrible, terrible judgment.

  14. Why on earth would Palin perpetrate such a hoax that could be found out simply by contacting her baby doctor and asking?

Just more drool from the fringe left.

  15. What a strange set of coincidences:

    1.  Palin waits until she is 7 months pregnant to tell anyone she is pregnant.  (hmmmm.....why wait? Most women are very excited to share such news.  Especially pro-lifers and high-profile women.)

    2.  Palin, who has had four other pregnancies, doesn't look pregnant at even seven months.

    3.  Palin's daughter goes missing from her school for the last four or five month's of her Mom's alleged pregnancy using a case of 'extended mono' as the reason.

    4.  Palin's daughter shows up in family photos taken during this time looking very pregnant.

    5.  Palin flies to Texas to give a speech during last month of pregnancy, water (supposedly) breaks and she persists in giving the speech, then takes an eleven hour flight back to Alaska to supposedly give birth.

How incredibly interesting!  When you put these coincidences together they suddenly become more plausible.

Somewhere, someone knows the truth! This so-called rumour would have never been started if there was nothing to back it up with.  The truth, in this instance, is very valuable and someone is going to get paid a lot of money for it!

I don't know enough yet but judging from the photos and the fact she waited so long to tell, didn't look pregnant and daughter looked pregnant and was missing from school........it looks like ...Governor Palin might be Grandmother Palin! LMAO

    ;)

  16. God I hope the lefty nut jobs don't take this country over...

  17. Math: 18 April 2008 (36 weeks) – 17 Dec 2007 = 18 weeks and 2 days pregnant. And yet, she said "one and only son in Iraq" during the interview.

On March 6th 2008, when Hilary Clinton is apparently loosing to Obama, Sarah wanted to make sure that her daughter's teenage pregnancy is not going to affect her VP-candidancy. Therefore, suddenly announced her 7-month pregnancy.

Dude, http://gov.state.ak.us/photos.php is actually removed! If you search the internet, there is one photo with Bristol's pregnant-looking belly.

    My logic here:

    1. It appears more convincing to general public that Trig actually comes from a 44-year-old. (dude, the age risk factor only applies to first-time-mothers. Have you heard of a Down's syn Kid with FOUR siblings?)

    2. Having a Down's child is clearly pro-life ethically.

    3. In the future, they intend to cause less suspicion even if Trig doesn't look like Sarah's Husband.

    4. Trig must be swapped (baby-swapping in hospital is another story).

My conclusion: Trig is meant for the election.

  18. Well when you look at Bristil Palin before the timeline of the baby she was skinny, then look around the time frame her belly grew along with her chest. Then months before the baby was born Bristol was pulled out of school and the public due to mono. I don' t know what person gains weight only in the belly and b***s due to mono. The baby doesn't even look like Sarah Palin or her husband... however it does look like Bristol. Either way I have no idea if it's true, it just looks fishy.

On Sarah Palin's website she removed photo's. But you can still find some on her front page.

  19. its personal business

that's how people who don't believe in abortions handle the matter

its no biggie in my book

  20. Wait a minute, was that a plot line from Desperate Housewives?  Yes, it was.

  21. Yeah.... This is true... I didn't believe it when I heard it, but I just called my wife who works with a DC based newspaper and they are getting ready to run the story, but want to triple check that they don't, in her words, "Dan Rather this"....  Apparently this has been rumored in Alaska for sometimes.... The word is she didn't disclose this during the vetting process because she didn't want the story to leak and didn't really believe she would be a real consideration for McCain's VP......  Wow.... this is crazy......

  22. it seems weird that she wouldl do that but it seems like she has. I ve read 7 differnt stories about the whole thing and non seem to match eachother. If her daughter had mono it takes 3-4 wks to get better with antibitotcs. C'mon now you tell me whos baby it is my mind is made up

  23. Now being upfront, we have no idea if this story is true but sources say it’s correct. But Media Takeout is reporting that McCain’s vice-presidential pick, Sarah Palin, is said to have pretended her fifth child, Trig Palin, was hers… when actually the baby belonged to her teenage daughter, Bristol Palin.

This pregnancy scandal is hitting the internet, and supposedly people “in the know” from Alaska are stating it is true, and that Sarah Palin hid her daughter’s pregnancy. And that the child, Trig Palin, might actually belong to her daughter, Bristol.

But could this just be a smear campaign? Not sure how you readers feel but it actually makes me think more of Sarah Palin actually, trying to protect her daughter and the child, Trig Palin.

Here is an excerpt taken from the blog The Moderate VPoice):

[Governor Palin’s] oldest girl is rumored to have actually been the one who had the last baby, the one with Down’s Syndrome. She was taken out of school the last 4 or 5 months of her mother’s pregnancy.

On March 5th, 2008 Alaska’s Republican Governor, Sarah Palin, announced to the media that she was 7 months pregnant with her 5th child. She is currently 44.

Palin’s daughter Bristol is 16 and attends an Anchorage high school. Students who have attended class with her report that she has been out of school for months, claiming a prolonged case of mono.

Palin does not appear pregnant in any recent photographs. The announcement came as quite a shock to people who had worked closely with her, and have been quoted as saying that she did not appear pregnant whatsoever during the prior 7 months.

If you look in the main photo, Bristol Palin does appear to be pregnant, while Sarah Palin, does not look pregnant at all!

And further fueling these rumors, the Alaska Department of State has now taken down all the photos of Sarah Palin and her family from their website. Hmm… that does seem a bit strange doesn’t it?

  24. The fact that Trig has Down Syndrome makes it very unlikely that Trig is Sarah's grandson.
