Question:

Did Sarah Palin fake the pregnancy to avoid family shame?

Okay - I started out with "Wow - a new low for the liberals trying Bush's old S.C. tricks against McCain's family." I looked more. This is not only a possibility, but a rather unnerving probability.

DailyKos - leftist, but rather convincing in their argument of this being a sham.

iReport.com - Anybody can write here, but some interesting points are made about the timing surrounding the birth.

I'm not trying to spread rumors. I was excited about Palin and liking her before this was pointed out to me. The woman never showed, never seemed distressed while on an 8-hour flight home from Dallas while IN LABOR, and then chose a remote hospital. Her daughter, Bristol was ABSENT from school for at least 5 months before the birth with "mono" and friends of hers are spilling that she was pregnant.

Too much to handle. I hope it's not true, but WOW these are interesting points made. I don't think this makes her a bad person, btw. A caring mom who wanted to avoid a difficult family issue in the public forum. But, why not be honest after the fact?

  1. I totally love the fact that democrats have to make this c**p up because they realize that VP-candidate Palin is far more more qualified than Obama.

  2. I thought it was all hype until I started looking into it more too.

She probably had to cover it up because it goes against her very beliefs. She doesn't believe in birth control, abstinence only. A pregnant teenage daughter kind of goes against it.

Why the heck would you accept the VP nomination with this skeleton in your closet?

  3. You people are sick.  I can't believe you referenced DailyKos and an MSNBC message board as if they are CREDIBLE news sources!!

  4. Any one who believes this story is a complete idiot.  I*D*I*O*T ! ! !

Sarah di show and she did gain significant weight especially in the face area.  She didn't look like a baby whale but she showed.

Her daughter was in school and I can personally attest that she didn't have a baby.

Some people have their tin foil hats on a little too tight and others will say or do anything, no matter who they injure, to get what they want.

  5. Don't you think that if she was faking a pregnancy that she would have showed?  A fake pregnancy pad is just a bid on ebay away.  As far as her being in labor, she stated that she leaked small amounts of amniotic fluid and had slight contractions before boarding the plane...both of which can happen weeks before giving birth.  If she was faking the pregnancy that was actually her daughter's, wouldn't she have stayed close to home during her daughter's last trimester?  If this was a ploy, then it was incredibly poorly planned and remarkably successful.

  6. are you an idiot to you honestly beleive that?

  7. No.  If you have solid proof, tell us.  If not, why do that to a young teenage girl because you don't support her mother in an election?

  8. Yes, she faked it.  There's no doubt about it.  And, don't believe the Republican evangelicals that she did not.  (They still believe Mother Mary gave birth to Jesus immaculately.)

  9. What kind of friend would spread that kind of rumor?

So Sarah Palin stuffed pillows under her belt and got away with it?

Think about it, how hard would that  be?

  10. have you ever had mono? my brother had it as a kid...let me tell you four months is nothing...he looked like a walking zombie...i think its bs...

  11. Without a doubt. Palin cooked up this plan watching "Desperate Houswives" last season. Her daughter is HAWT! no wonder she got knocked up -- mommy never taught her about birth control.

  12. she looks like she is showing here:

i personally know a girl around her daughter's age who has that little bulge in her stomach. its just a place where a lot of females collect fat. my bestfriend growing up hated hers and used to call it her "pooch" and she was always stressed out about it.

  13. 18 April 2008 (36 weeks) – 10 Dec 2007 = 17 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Sarah said, " my one and only son in Iraq".

When you are 4 months pregnant, how can you say that you only have one son?

By the way, risk factor of Down's syn. due to age only applies to first-term mothers. Have you heard of Down's syn. kid with FOUR normal siblings?

  14. Nice research. Message boards.

  15. I didn't read your links. The first one began with a board.

Stupid!!! Not you, but the rumor.

  16. Magnus answer is spot on.

Now that her daughter's current pregnancy is confirmed, we can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing she wasn't pregnant last year--how far fetched!

As a health care professional and mother of a preemie, I am wondering if Ms Palin boarded a flight leaking amniotic fluid.  NO, this never happens months before you deliver.  The second you water breaks you are at risk for bacteria ascending up into the uterus and causing an infection.  Doctors typically want to deliver a baby within 12 hours of the water breaking, to keep the risk low.

A preemie, Down Syndrome baby is a very high risk pregnancy.  Ms Palin shoud go to the highest center of care (typically hospitals in major metropolitan areas) immediately.

I hope the details surrounding her delivery are wrong, because it is certainly poor decision making, assuming she WASN'T hiding the pregnancy.

  17. No Sarah Palin did not, but apparently you -are- trying to "spread rumors".

A sampling of your questions reveals a lot about "innocent" little you. -

"After I found out about the Keating 5 scandal, among other things, this came up and sealed the "coffin" on McCain in my mind."

You have already stated that you are not voting for McCain, so why would you pretend your little witch hunt is honorable.

  18. The baby was only about 6 lbs when born.  A very fit woman can carry an extra 6 + lbs while showing very little.  Face it, most women get HUGE when they are preggers because they get FAT.

The pictures of Sarah Palin in her 7 + months?  Yep she looks pregnant.

Couple other things - if the Palins wanted to cover this up, why would they allow Sarah to look "not pregnant" for so long?  It's BS.

  19. Who cares about the whole fake pregnancy rumor...Her kid is home-schooled? Now I'm freakin' scared.

    ---------

lol, I just checked. It seems to be true. Goodbye Dept. of Education, hello jesus camp. of course this might just be a precaution so she doesn't get knocked up again.

  20. Just give Pat F the best answer and be done with it!

This kind of criticism gives honest people who run for government a second thought when they step up for what is right and fight against corruption.

She is a reformer, and there are clearly powerful forces who do not want her to see the light of day.  They SHOULD be on the defensive.

Tony 85, at 4 months pregnant, you don't even know the s*x of the baby!  You're being ridiculous!!

  21. Seven months pregnant? I’m just saying…

  22. If she really was pregnant, then her behavior on the day she delivered her baby showed pretty bad personal judgment.  (see http://img364.imageshack.us/img364/4628/... ).

If she makes decisions like this for her own kids, is there anyway she should be put in a position where she might be able to make decisions about your kids?

The case is all circumstantial -- but today it got even better.  Today, Plain claimed her daughter is currently pregnant.

  23. First, as a woman that hopes to have a child, and as many women know, getting older increases the chances of having a Down Syndrome child.  A pregnant 17 year old girl is so unlikely to have a child with this disability, that this should put question to your mind in reading the rumor

Second, how low must one go to raise story about Palin's 17 year old daughter?

Third, as a fit woman, that her pregnancy was atypical can hardly be surprising...there are women that give birth and state that they did not even know that they were pregnant.

Fourth, so what's really behind the rrumor  I think that women are so eager at times to attack women in positions of leadership, that they do not give women a fair chance... to tie her to this, or even to say she cannot be a mom and a vice president is ignorant.

    How arrogant!!!

  24. Yes, it's true.  Please keep in mind that this is a private issue.  Bristol is a flesh-and-blood 17 year old girl, not some Desparate Housewives character, who has gone though a lot, and she didn't choose to have her story plastered all over the tabloids.  Please have some compassion and respect.

  25. Are you saying that the hospital and its entire staff were also in on this ¨fake¨pregnancy too?  They all conspired to cover it up?  Do you realize how far-fetched this sounds?

  26. It is a sad day when the Dem's begin attacking a child in this manner.  No Republican has attacked Obama's children, nor would they.

It is for this reason that I would at this point ever side with Dem's ever.

You all should be ashamed of yourself, and I hope this all comes home to roost for each and every one that is saying such things about this womans children......You liberal Dem's have really stooped to a new low....even for you guys.

  27. I heard that Bristol is homeschooled and doesn't attend a public school - read this article:

    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article...

Of course, it could be wrong, but so could all the other "facts" :)

  28. No.  Of course she didn't lie about having a baby to cover up her daughter's pregnancy.

The Governor, a vocal anti-choice Republican, chose to return to Alaska to have her 5th child despite the following risk factors:

    1.  She was leaking amniotic fluid (her water broke)

    2.  She was 44 years old, a risky age for childbirth.

    3.  The baby she was carrying had known "special challenges" (down syndrome)

    4.  The child was one full month premature.

    5.  She flew from Texas to Alaska on a commercial airline (Alaska Airlines) while while leaking amniotic fluid, a 10 or more hour flight depending on the length and location of her layover.

    6.  She did not inform any of the airline staff of her condition.

However, Gregg Erickson, a reporter from the Anchorage Daily News, told the Daily Kos that the rumors had been investigated and debunked.

So it appears that these behaviors are not those of a person faking/covering up a pregnancy but merely those of someone with terrible, terrible judgment.

  29. It's an interesting theory that, as displayed in the above answers, Reps and Conservs will use to turn around and bash Dems and Libs.  Which it's not about using a teenager as a scapegoat, it poses a difficult question, I can understand why she would do it, if she did, but what would this say about her politics?  I'll keep my eye on the story in the mean time, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

  30. This is exactally the low-class, no-class, idiotic  type of crapola I expected to hear (and see) when I heard that Palin had been chosen as McCain's running mate.  Libs are so pathetically predictable!!!!  LOL!  LOL!  LOL!
