Did Stars wars took many inspiration and elements from the TV Series? ?

well i watched Stars wars a couple a times and i noticed the it took many elements from star trek like the Darth star ship similar to one they use in Star Trek.That just my saying that i believe it took many inspiration from Star Trek. Did you believe that?

  1. most likely, i mean SOME inspiration was taken from everything space related, but most came from old flash gordon and sush.

    lucas would have been extreemly cautious when taking inspiration from star trek, as it was such a popular show, he would have had to be careful not to make it like the trek universe, star wars had to have its own feeling and designs.

    its kind of like how lucas dosnt like letting the same artists design more than 1 planet, cause in the end, if he did, it would end up looking basically the same

  4. Actually Star wars was influenced largely by the old matinée serial space opera films like "Buck Rogers" and "Flash Gordon". It also included elements of pirate films (sword fights), knights on a quest themes and even a smattering of the old west paladin type films.
